I got out of bed, slowly tiptoeing across the room. I slipped on my flip flops and kept my pajamas on. They were practically clothes anyways. I tried to sneak out of Tammy's room, but just as I stepped over the threshold, the floorboard creaked. I swung my head around to look at Tammy who was, thank goodness, still asleep. She rolled over on her side as I stepped all the way out of the room. I crept down the stairs and snuck out the front door stealthily. As soon as the door was shut, I sprinted across the lawn and into Joeys driveway. I smiled widely as I saw Joey shooting the basketball into the basket. I looked over at him, my mouth dropping to the ground. He was shirtless. He grabbed the basketball and walked over to me, a smirk lighting up his face.
"Hey," he said quietly.
"H-hi."
He took my hand in his and we went inside. While I was sitting on his beautiful tan couch, he grabbed a tank from a hamper across the room and threw it on. He turned to me and smiled. I wasn't so nervous anymore.
"You know, for someone who's supposed to be a nerd, you sure do a lot of jock related things," I said with a chuckled. Joey laughed lightly.
"I know. I'm too shy to make new friends, or to try out for any type of team. That's why my school and home lives are so much different," he explained as he sat on the couch beside me. He turned towards the table behind him, grabbing something. He turned back to me with his glasses.
"I don't have contacts in."
He put them on his face, the glasses complimenting all the features of his face. I smirked lightly.
"That's okay. I don't mind."
I pulled my feet up on the couch and stared into Joey's eyes. We just sat there, staring into each others eyes for what seemed like hours. I somehow ended up on Joey's lap, cuddling close to him. I laid my head down on his chest, listening to his heart beat. His chest rose up and down slowly, him wrapping his arms around me. His hands stopped on my hips, making me smile.
"Joey," I whispered.
"Yes?"
"What am I going to do about this?"
He sighed quietly, but I felt his chest rise up and down.
"I don't know. Eventually he'll either find out or one of us will have to tell him."
One of us... He didn't say that I had to do it...
I snuggled closer to Joey and hugged him tightly. I was freezing. Suddenly, a blanket was pulled over me and Joey from the back of the couch.
"You seemed cold."
"Thanks Joey. You're so sweet."
After a few more minutes of silence Joey spoke up.
"Do you love me?"
Do I love Joey?
Hmmmm... Well, of course I love him.
But, I mean, I also love Shane.
Why did he have to ask that?
Ugh.
"Mandy?"
I sat up to look him in the eyes. As I stared into his amazing emerald eyes, an answer escaped my lips.
"Yes," I whispered.
He smiled widely and pulled me into a kiss. For a nerd, he sure is a damn good kisser. I tilted my head, putting my hands on the back of his neck. He gasped, obviously not used to this. I laughed at him quietly.
