It's been a year since the global ban on plastic bags. The only people who still have them are hoarders, upcyclers, clean freaks and seniors. The world is a different place. Plastic bags are frowned upon but many folks can't stomach the rising costs...
Since the government implemented basic income a small percentage of the population dropped out of the rat race, myself included.
I was in second year business school when I realized that if given the choice, I'd rather have my freedom than a job. The idea of work and not being able to live on this planet as a free human being is a pretty messed up thing. We are all prisoners in this grande social experiment we call "life". It was astonishing to look around and see how many people just didn't see how broken it all was. They were hamsters on a wheel going nowhere.
I jumped off the wheel and broke out of the cage.
Somewhere along the course of human history we completely lost the point and purpose of life in favour of shopping, celebrity trash, internet fame, meaningless words, and social narcissism. Way to go humans... Way to show off our species best attributes.
The hamster wheel was for those people. They didn't get it.
Life was for me.
Being a plastic pusher was cool because it was on my terms. I was doing as much or as little as I wanted and I controlled my own destiny as a plastic pusher and set my own pace of life.
And that gave me a small slice of happiness in this fucked up world.
