Dacia was now officially the alpha and Penelope was unable to say anything about it. What Penelope did not expect was that Dacia would shut away so many things from her sister.
-"Dacia, shouldn't you be checking that forest all the time?"- said Penelope who at times would really wish a vampire would simply get rid of her sister.
-"I do go from time to time only to go vampire hunting. We have tried questioning a few of them. Those who haven't agreed to even speak or are too wild to even do so, are immediately disposed of. Its my job to look for our clans' safety. Its my priority"- said sixteen years old Dacia as she rose her sigh from the papers to look at her sister Penelope with a defying look.
This would definetly make Penelope burn with anger inside, but Dacia did not care. She was there to accomplish some things and her sister must definitely comply to them. Many of the packs' issues would solve things for the rest of the clans. Penelope closed her hands into fists as she looked angrily at her sister and then walked away. Every now and then it felt like a war she could still not win. Was her little sister always that strong?
. . .
-"Dacia...what do you mean you want to meet the leader of the coven of Hoai Forest?"- asked Dorin during a pack meeting.
She knew that everyone would disagree, but she was certain that this was one way to solve the fulish war amongst them. They needed to understand each other and strive to survive together. Everyone was fighting their way to survival one way or the other, including themselves.
-"Miss...A vampire again? Aren't you just going to wipe them all in one go?"- asked a man while Dacia rose an eye brow.
-"Wipe them? Why? Would you like it if they thought the same way you did, sir? 'Why not wipe those mutts all in one go?' I'm sure it would be a lovely sigh to see them doing the same as we do right now"- added Dacia while the man simply gulped and averted his gaze.
Dorin was quite shocked with Dacia's response. She had always been a girl capable of many things, specially shocking people this way. Everyone looked at each other confused and surprised with Dacia's words. The man did not speak anything further and Dacia decided to go on.
-"Its an useless war what we are talking about. We should be able to coexist at some point. Do you even know how many people have decided to get bitten by a vampire to protect their families?"- exposes Dacia. "During one of the interrogations one of the vampires blurted that he needed to check on his family and I decided to let him go and follow him. As he said, he has a human family he watches over even if he cannot live with them. He provides most of what they need during the night and leaves a note to their loved ones. I haven't talked to him ever since, but think about it. Is that even wrong?"
Everyone looked at one another as they nodded in agreement. Certainly it did make sense, but somehow they weren't so sure about it.
-"Why don't we look more into it and then decide?"- suggested Dorin and then they ended the meeting.
The men walked out of the room as Dacia sighed in frustration. Dorin simply ruffles her hair.
-"Cheer up. At least they seem to understand your ideas a bit more now"- he said as he placed a kiss on her cheek.
-"I guess so"- answered Dacia as a small smile spread on her face. "What would my father do in such cases..."
-"Your father would have followed their lead, but you are different. Think for yourself, not how anyone else would"-
