You work hard for the pieces to stay together
but the wind scatters it across the sky
All the cement and glue have disappeared
I was here, you were there
Now we are just not anywhere
I felt sand sink through my fingers
What once was something is now oblivion
A memory at the mercy of time.
I was here, you were there
Now we are just not anywhere
The foundation cracks under the pressure
The windows shatter from the weather
The doors refuse to close from all the rust
I was here, you were there
Now we are just not anywhere
