Cast a doubt in the sea
Fear pulled by the wind
The light from shore is dimming
The sun is sitting; and the clouds turn pink
Fading without stars; without stars. My compass lost its north heading
The sea swells with the commotion
Both are spinning and dizzying meThe Ship is taking,
rushing water
The ship is taking,
Rushing water
Up to my neck; up to my neck
And growing.Put on the ragged preserver
Cut the line of sympathy
Withdraw the hand of concern
The shoulders are turning and collect their frost
Fading without stars; fading without starsMy compass lost its north heading
The sea swells with the commotion
Both are spinning and dizzying me
The Ship is taking,
rushing water
The ship is taking,
Rushing water
Up to my neck; up to my neck
And growing.Keep your hands in your pockets
The life raft is for you
I sink to the depths of my own sea
The sun is rising; and shines bright for you
I fade like the stars, like the starsMy compass lost its north heading
The sea swells with the commotion
Both are spinning and dizzying meThe Ship is taking,
rushing water
The ship is taking,
Rushing water
Up to my neck; up to my neck
And growing.
