Collapsing by my own weight
If I don't get up now, I never will
Starring at the ceiling, and hesitate
Prescription for happiness needs a refill

Hair of Fire
Skin of Snow
Eyes of Sapphire
A heart aglow

December comes around and the sun hangs low
A perfect contrast if you think about it
piles of snow around everyone I know
Some may endure and others will quit

Hair of Fire
Skin of Snow
Eyes of Sapphire
A heart aglow

In my bed with blankets as my bastion
white noise from a machine to focus my head
A bottle of water and hand full of aspirin
giving it some time, I'll melt into the bedspread.

Hair of Fire
Skin of Snow
Eyes of Sapphire
A heart aglow

Running thoughts without a finish line
I am the one who waves the green flag
they keep going without signal or a sign
Hoping to fall asleep, and for the race to hit a snag

Hair of Fire
Skin of Snow
Eyes of Sapphire
A heart aglow

A face painted in my mind
a portrait with detail and tangibility
The gears keep me up with their grind
The unattainable leave me with irascibility

Hair of Fire
Skin of Snow
Eyes of Sapphire
A heart aglow

I remember legs prop like a wall
Rustic typewriter on display
A crowded cafe, but avoiding all
She curls up to keep the fear at bay

Hair of Fire
Skin of Snow
Eyes of Sapphire
A heart aglow

 I am breathing the moment

Plot my speech and gain a spine

Install the missing component

walk straight down the line

Hair of Fire

Skin of Snow

Eyes of Sapphire

A heart aglow
