The fire that I thought you tamed
Brushed away the tinder into asunder
Stretched across a dark night sky
The forest began to grow anew
The temple opened to you
The keeper allowed you in
Two beating heart entwined
You were one of the chosen few
Eyes blindfolded
Heart encased in stone
Hands let go
Two lovers once one.
Now alone
Did the beast upset your beauty?
Did expectations fall like a bridge in to the river?
Swept out of reach, and with no concern
Did this love turn to ash?
The pale angel who accepted flaws
Embraced the scars with warmth
Forsaken the bottom feeder
Loving arms now glass
Eyes blindfolded
Heart encased in stone
Hands let go
Two lovers once one.
Now alone
