(Y/n) P.O.V
Well here we go! Finally after a week of being here, Hiro is about to serve his purpose. After all the pig chases, funny faces, puking at food, being a lazy ass and being freaked out when a chicken laid an egg on the floor, We were gonna visit my grandmother.
Hiro had revised everything i had told him, who was a Tita or a Tito for example and the family positions. Hopefully my grandmother would buy this lame excuse of a boyfriend... Hiro isn't really what i believe she was hoping for but if i'm happy then i think that would be enough to make her happy.
Hiro held my hand as Aunt Cass and Tadashi started to talk about Bob, a pig which we ended up selling. I think he was their favorite or something, not my problem but any ways... My mom led us through the hospital corridors- apparently my grandmother had grown very weak and was no longer fit to be looked after by family members like we hoped so.
It wasn't until we arrived at the 5th floor that we turned left and walked into the 357th ward. It was a small room with plain white walls and a couple of photographs in picture frames on the bedside table. My mom went up to the figure in the bed behind the curtain and began to talk in Tagalog- Filipino- Hiro and the other two Hamada's would exchange looks of confusion with me until my mom appeared again
I could hear every word- growing sadder the more i realized that she wouldn't make it. She was old after all and her immune system wasn't as good, a single cold could probably finish her but it was the fact that she had cancer that put me down.
It suddenly felt wrong for me to lie to her about Hiro...
She didn't do anything wrong to be lied to... and i'm sure she would understand...
Aunt Cass patted my shoulder lightly as my mother signaled me to see her. "Just wait a sec" i whispered to Hiro.
I hesitantly walked behind the small curtain and eyed my grandmother in her bed. Though i could see the pain on her face, she still smiled. "Hello (Y/n)" She whispered in Tagalog.
"Hi..." i replied back.
"So i've heard you have a special someone you would like me to meet?" She grinned.
"Um yes..." I said quickly.
"Well let me meet him! Is he everything you dreamed of?" She asked.
"Uh yes?" I questioned myself.
"You don't sound to sure...bring him here and perhaps you will feel more confident, what's his name?" She asked.
"Hiro." I replied. She nodded to signal me to get him. I walked outside and looked at him. "She would like to meet you...let's get this over with." i muttered, turning a light red shade as i grabbed Hiro's hand and brought him to my grandmother.
"Tita- this is my boyfriend Hiro!" I lied. She looked at him before smiling.
"Beautiful! He looks cute (Y/n)! Say you have a good choice in boys." she said.
"What did she say?" Hiro asked.
"She said you are beautiful....handsome etc and that i had a good taste in guys." I explained.
"Is he a good boyfriend?" My grandmother asked.
"Yes he is, very sweet and nice-and intelligent to!" I smiled.
"Nice AND intelligent! Now you are just playing- next thing i know he isn't really your boyfriend!" My grandmother joked.
"Yes he is nice and intelligent! You can ask him yourself!" I laughed in pity. This lie was just so cruel...
"Really then? i believe you, how long have you known each other for?" She asked.
"Um a few years." i said as my grandmother nodded her head. "um...may i tell you something?" i muttered slowly.
"Of course!" She said. i looked at Hiro then back to her.
"Um... well Hiro isn't my boyfriend..." I said.
"He isn't? What is he then?" I could see the disappointment filling her face.
"He is uh...he isn't JUST my boyfriend..." I covered up. "He is my...uh... FIRST boyfriend." i said.
"I see you have a good relationship then." She smiled wider. "For a second i thought you had lied." she laughed. "How could i have doubted you though?"
I shrugged as my mom entered with a nurse, Hiro and i said good bye as Aunt Cass led us out. The walk out of the building being very quiet. Hiro noticed this quickly and tried to strike a conversation. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"No..." i said flatly, "I lied to my grandmother." Hiro nodded before stopping me.
"Look, i may be able to fix this." He offered. i waved him off.
"Don't waste your time Hiro. What is done is done." I said, walking towards Aunt Cass who was talking to Tadashi.
"Hang on." Hiro insisted, "What if you agreed to go out with me?"He asked. I froze instantly. "Aishiteru" He said.
"I love you."
