Hiro's P.O.V

It's hard to hide your inner emotions in San Fransoyko.

Especially when you try to lie.

No matter what, a stupid little emoji will always pop up above your head to display your true feelings.

There is no point in lying to be honest- you kinda will be screwed by the stupid emojis.

And that's probably what I hate and love about them.

This city is an honest city.

(Y/n) P.O.V

"?!?"

"?!?"

"?!?"

"?!?"

"?!?"

Those little symbols pop up where ever I go...

"o.o"

"o.o"

"o.o"

That to.

It's no mystery why- something is wrong with me.

I just don't have emojis... I have emotions, but the symbol to tell others how I feel doesn't exist.

I have and ugly, stupid, black, line.

And that's why everyone is weirded out by me.

Why no one talks to me.

Because I'm not an open book.

I'm "foreign"

Hiro's P.O.V

I walked onto the bus and looked around. A mixture of confused and freaked out emojis were waving around the place.

😳

😳

😳

😳

😳

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

A boy with a confused emoji took a seat next to me. He looked around as I shifted to the window so he could have some more space.

People were trying to look everywhere BUT at me.

I'm an outcast.

Hiro's P.O.V

I turned around to face the front, waiting for the bus to stop so I could get off, the bus felt to uncomfortable, like many others thought.

Everyone but the girl I sat next to immediately got up and left.

I felt kinda bad for her because she probably didn't know what was going on.

So I stayed.

The bus continued its route until two teens got on behind us.

"Flick!"

"Tap"

"THUMP!!!"

I turned my head in annoyance to see the boys annoying us, the seat being shaken.

I sighed and moved to another seat, expecting the girl to move as well.

But she didn't.

She stayed and endured the two boys harassing her, both of them having a smirking emoji 😈 above their stupid heads.

I looked at the girl and finally realised why they were annoying her.

She had no emoji.

That's why everyone freaked out in the bus. Because there was no emoticon above her head.

Just a black line.

I got up and pressed the stop button, waiting for the bus to come to a halt and open its doors.

I grabbed her hand, pulled her off the bus and glared at the boys. The girl just looked at me in shock... Not emoji shock but facial shock.

"Wh-what's going on?!" She exclaimed, her eyes growing wide and her eyebrows going together.

"PLEASE!!!" She yelled, crouching and holding her hands up. "Please don't hit my head... Anything but my head..."

I looked at her astounded, seeing the familiar 😯 emoji appear above me.

"What do you mean?" I asked. The girl slowly opened her closed eyes.

"That's why you dragged m-me off the b-bus." She trembled.

Still a black line appeared over her head. No emoji, just a black line.

"What am I gonna hit you for?" I asked.

"The stupid, ugly, black, line above me..." She said.

"Huh? Oh the line?" I pointed at it. "Why would I get you for that?"

"Because I'm different..." She mumbled.

My emoji changed to a surprised one 😨. I gently grabbed her arm and lifted her up as she whimpered.

"W-what are you gonna do?!" She squealed.

"Nothing." I said.

"T-that's a j-joke right?!" She asked, shielding her face.

"No... Really I'm not gonna do anything... Why do people treat you like this?" I asked. She slowly looked at me and gained a proper posture.

"My black line... I freak everyone out because my emoticons don't work..." She sniffles.

"So?" I asked.

"So?!" She repeated. "I'm not like you or my mom or anyone! I'm weird..."

The way she said weird made me feel weird...

"But in a good way... I'd prefer to be you- no one knows what I'm feeling all the time and I'm mysterious... This-" I indicated to my emoji which had turned disappointed 😔.

"This just shows I'm like the others... So boring and... And identical." I said. "If I could, I'd be a black line like you... How did you become a black line?" I asked.

"Oh well um... Well..." She said. "I don't know." She said.

We had an awkward silence until I spoke up. "I'm Hiro."

"(Y/n)." She smiled sweetly. I returned the expression as she rubbed her neck.

"Well Hiro- thank you for helping me back there... " she trailed off.

"No problem... " I replied grinning.

She placed a hand on my shoulder. "No seriously... I wish more people were like you."

I shrugged. "I wish I was like you."
