This dinner being a whole awkward mess was the understatement of the century. I couldn't blame it on him though, it was me that's making it all awkward. I noticed his expert attempts at making a conversation, flashing his charming smirk. Yet I wasn't fazed by his smirks and words, I was fully aware of him and I didn't like him one bit. I felt exposed as well, considering that I was clad in my work clothes instead of a fancier piece of clothing. I was sure that some weirded-out gazes were still stuck on my back, which was still strangely uncomfortable for a long time. Maybe it was him, maybe it was me. I was an intern while he was an important boss of mine, it didn't match up at all.

"Would you like some red wine?" He offered me, even though he was much more superior in class. He didn't bother tucking his ginger hair into place, because the strands were never sticking out for one bit. He was built for the tuxedo that he was wearing right at this moment.

I made up an excuse, "I can't, I have to drive home this evening."

I knew my words were as piercing as a blunt knife, because he didn't buy it at all. He said, "I can send my chauffeur to take you home, have some wine!"

"I appreciate the offer, but I can't." I politely, maybe I was tad rude, told him.

"Don't be a sad little girl, have some wine!" He continued to persuade me, it was getting annoying. I gave up and said, "Alright."

"Perfect." He murmured charmingly, giving me another smirk. He motioned the waiter to come and ordered a classic bottle of red wine.

The waiter didn't take his time to jot the order down, but he bolted away and back with a bottle of red wine ready in his hands. He poured the rich wine into our wineglasses, the crimson liquid flowing. Krett didn't take his time to lift the wineglass up to clink with mine, I reluctantly clinked his wineglass with a mumble, "Cheers."

I sipped on the alcoholic red, letting my mouth dry up as I gulped the liquid down. He asked me, "So, are you feeling comfortable in my company?"

"Slightly hectic, but it works just fine for me." I knew I had only sipped on a little wine, but I was already spouting out the truth which mustn't be heard by the boss himself.

He nodded in slight hesitance and disgust, but he said, "I understand, it's tough for everyone."

I bit back an urge to roll my eyes as his bogus words came out of his mouth, it was a filthy lie. He said that he cared, but the glint in his eyes contradicted his words. I said, "Yes."

"You're too pretty to be a mere intern, would you like a secretary spot?" He asked me all of a sudden, yet I was taken aback by his sudden words.

I laughed dryly and said, "I'm sorry, but I'm not interested."

It's a wonder that he still wasn't sick of me yet, I was an intern talking back to him against his wishes.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" He asked me, catching me off guard.

I sipped on the red wine again, without realizing that my wine intake was increasing. I felt partly stupid at this, because I was in for becoming drunk in front of my boss. At least he could fire me, I wasn't doing well with lies. I was becoming sleepy, I could faint anytime. I almost let slumber control me, but I didn't let it as warmth radiated above my hand.
