(A/N: Asher's POV)

Adrenaline rushed in my veins like a rapid river, almost killing me in the process. I was wide awake in a good paranoid way, as if I were more wary of my surroundings. I sprinted to the only suspicious room, room 447.

I left Krett behind, only having the scream echoing in my ears. I couldn't breathe properly, because I was in a frenzy mode. She couldn't hurt her! I wouldn't let her!

I nearly slipped when I turned in a corner, staring at the door which had the number 447 imprinted on it. I ran towards it, hearing my footsteps echo loudly on the rug.

Not this time. Not this time. She's too precious.

"Peter, do you believe in love at first sight?" I foolishly asked him, ogling at the girl who stood there cluelessly.

He knitted his eyebrows and rolled his lips into his mouth. I didn't actually care if he answered or not, I was just astounded. But, his cheeks were still slightly chubby after all the workout we had done together. I couldn't ignore his cheeks for some reason, but the girl took my attention away.

"Everyone's different, Asher." He answered in the end and sipped on a red solo cup of Gatorade.

I was finally able to let go of the ugly incidents of last year just around this month and now I was distracted by a lone girl. I wore a mask, she wore a dress, what's so cliché about it? Every single damn thing.

"I've never thought Cinderella might occur here in real life." I told him, licking my lower lip.

With a goofy grin and sarcasm, he told me, "I've never thought you twit would become Prince Charming, whatever his name is."

I elbowed him in the arm and he made an oof sound. I told him, "Who made you grand and fine today?"

"Diet Coke." He said with a tease in his voice.

I wrapped an arm around his neck and ruffled his hair, laughing tremendously. He yanked away and scoffed, "I'm gonna go check out the minibar, don't come join me."

"The girl is prettier than you!" I made a remark, but he just left with a scowl. He wasn't kidding when he had said he's heading to the minibar.

I shook my head as I chuckled, but my attention was captured by her again. With her hazel hair flowing down like a silk dress, she looked wonderful with her glimmering orbs. My heart dropped.

A male rival with chiseled jaw and mops of blonde hair approached her, handing her a red solo cup. He eyed her with a smile and so did she return his smile with a smile of her own. If I hadn't talked with Peter for so long, I would have...

If I couldn't embrace her closely, I could embrace her from far away. Her own smile made my heart flutter, a genuine smile that could make me fall under her bewitching spell.

I remained speechless, watching those two dancing wildly. I froze on my feet, when the guy suddenly left. It's my chance, but what happened?

I gathered up my courage, although I was a confident lad. It took me that, it took me my courage to build up. She was different, she made me feel different. I took in a deep breath and started walking towards her, more like marching.

I felt a hand stopping my arm and my head whipped around. "Hey, who decided to crash the party?" She snarled seductively, in my opinion I didn't know snarling could be flirty.
