It's been a week since my sleepover with Aspen. We have grown to be close friends, and I'm kinda glad. Aspen is very funny and sometimes sassy, though we are probably only friends cause she is the only one that has talked to me.
I was in my chemistry class it was pretty boring until Aspen said she had some news.
" So there is this thing that I was wondering if you want to do!" She said cheerfully.
" What is that?" I said while gathering my stuff into my backpack.
" Well there is this thing that my friends and I do every year. We go into the city and just have fun! So I was wondering if you want to come along since it could be fun." She said with excitement.
" Well I guess that could be fun, but when is it?" I asked.
" We leave this Thursday and skip Friday and stay until Saturday."
" Well I have to see" I said.
I honestly wanted to go I thought it sounded like fun and maybe I could get away from Chase. I hated how much he effected me, but he took something very special from me that I can never take back. Though money was an issue, I honestly had no money and though, my grandmother had money so I guess I'll ask her.
School was done and I was getting my stuff from my locker until I suddenly felt someone looking at me. I turned my head and saw Chase staring at me while he was talking to his friends, our eyes suddenly locked together and I felt my stomach flip. So I quickly stop the eye contact and walked quickly out of the school.

I arrived home and asked my grandmother to sit down with me.
" So grandma I have a question, some kids invited me on trip with them to the city and I need money but I'm broke. So I was wondering if you could give me some money."
" Of course dear, you deserve some fun anyways I'll give you the money tomorrow." She said happily.
" Thanks." I said, and went up to my room and called Aspen telling her I could go.

There were 15 minutes left until Aspen and her friends were coming to pick me up, and I still haven't finished packing. I soon see a car pulling up in my drive way though it's not Aspen's. I go out with my luggage and am soon greeted by bubbly Aspen.
" So where are all your friends?" I ask with curiosity.
" Well I kinda lied, it's just Chase. I knew you weren't going to come if you knew he was there so that's why I lied." She said explaining herself.
I was kinda mad but I couldn't back down now, I already had the money that my grandma gave me, I just put my stuff in the trunk and decided to get into the back seat. There I saw a Chase sitting in the drivers seat staring at me through the rear view mirror. I honestly didn't know what to say, I could smile but that would be too friendly, I could glare or I could look away. Though I did none of those. I just looked at him until he smiled and I felt like I was melting.
I didn't want to feel like this. I wanted to feel hatred towards him, but I just couldn't. There was an awkward silence and Chase drove, it took about 25 minutes when we got there. It was fall, and New York City was absolutely amazing, it was chilly. I was wearing a big sweater and black jeans, Aspen was wearing tights and a brown leather jacket.
"Ugh, I'm starving, we should go for dinner!" Aspen cried out.
"Yes, there's a restaurant down this street called 'Le Bernardin'" Chase recommended.
"Sounds fancy!" Aspen smirked.
"So shall we go?" Chase lead us the way as he walked in front. He started walking slower and I was soon walking in front of him, it felt awkward with him being behind me, he could stare at me the whole time. We didn't talk the whole time, at least not me, and that made things more awkward. We got to the restaurant. It looked very fancy, the tables were covered in white cloth, there were plates aligned perfectly on the table, and wine. I was not prepared for this, I was dressed not as formally as the others were. We sat down and the waiter offered us wine, Chase and Aspen pulled out fake ID's and said they were 21. I on the other hand, did not want to get drunk, past experiences. I scanned the menu, I decided on the Margret de Canard and the chicken soup.
"3 glasses of Chardonnay please. I would like Pan-seared Foie Gras. Thank you. " Chase ordered from the waiter.
"I would like Ratatouille, thank you!" Aspen thankfully said.
"Um, I would like the Ma-margret de Canurd, I mean Canard, uh, and the chicken soup, thank you." I struggled to say those french dishes, kind of embarrassing. I saw Chase from the corner of my eye chuckling.
The waiter came out with our dishes and we ate. It was all silent until Chase spoke.
"So, Harper how have you been doing?" He grinned.
"I've been fine." I replied.
"Are you still sore?"
I choked at that comment, how stupid. I could tell Aspen was enjoying this.
"You guys are so cute, I can't, oh my god. You guys should totally make up!" Aspen finally said.
"How are we going to make up if we were never friends in the first place." I said.
"Harper!" Aspen yelled at me as though she was about to scold me.
"Yes, we weren't friends, we were definitely something else." Chase smugly said.
I glared at him, holding my fork as though I was going to stab him with it. He looked at me back and smiled.
Soon the wine came out. I didn't drink it because I didn't want to make mistakes again, but Chase and Aspen were going all out on the wine. Chase was sure a heavy drinker, there wasn't signs that he was drunk, same goes for Aspen, she may look like that barbie doll that can't take a challenge but she's a tough one for sure.
Once we were done eating, Chase offered to pay and he drove us to Fairmont hotel after. It looked very expensive, and I felt relaxed here. We were in a suite and I had no idea how I would pay for this, Chase offered to pay this all but that would be too much. There were two rooms, Aspen and I were in one room and Chase stayed in the other room. It was late now, I head to sleep on the bed next to Aspen's, we talked for a bit then slept.
