Chase and I left McDonald's and drove back to his place. He lead me to his living room and we watched a movie.
"So, mind telling me what last night was all about?" Chase asked.
"Um, it's not a big deal. I was just having a moment to myself." I answered not looking at his face.
"Having a moment to yourself...is that what girls do? Cry when they have a moment to themselves?" Chase asked like confused puppy.
"No...I just-I don't know. It doesn't matter. What movies shall we watch?"
"Maybe a horror movie?"
"Yes, I love horror movies."
"Oh? I thought you would try to deny it. Any recommendations?"
"I want to try 'The Exorcist'. I heard it's really good."
"Alright then."
Chase turned off all the lights and closed his blinds to set the mood. He plopped down next to me and placed his head on my lap, his leg resting on the couch arm.
"What-can you sit properly?" I said, blushing.
"Nope." He said, I couldn't see his face.
The movie had started, I had forgotten Chase was resting on my lap since the movie was so intense. It was a horror classic, and I liked it. After the movie was over, Chase turned his head looking up at my face.
"That was a terrible movie." Chase laughed.
"What-why? I thought it was pretty good."
"The acting sucked, but I can't blame them. It was from 1973."
"Eh, it's fine. Actually-I should go home now, can you drive me?"
"Sure, yeah."
Chase sounded disappointed for sure, but I needed to go home to Grandma or else she'll be worried sick. We were on the road, when I started to have a mood swing. What if Mom calls? When I thought about that, I started to think about her cancer. I looked out of the window to the sun, trying to avoid crying again. I didn't want to go home, I didn't want to see grandma and get reminded about mom.
"Chase..." I lowered my voice.
"Yeah?"
"I-I don't want to go home."
"Why not?"
"I just can't."
"Well, do you want to go home? Tell me, yes or no."
"I-I don't think I want to..."
"Well shall we turn around to my place?"
"Y-yeah..."
"Alright," he grinned as he turned around his car.
I took out my phone and texted grandma that I wasn't going to be home tonight. We arrived at Chase's house, I then forgot that I had no clothes to wear tonight and that I would basically be wearing the same clothes as I would be wearing today.
I'm still surprised about Chase's house, although he does seem to be the kind that would be wealthy. It's about 10 pm, and Chase is preparing water with chips to eat as a night snack.
"So you got anything to wear tonight? After all, your clothes must be dirty."
"Is that supposed to mean anything?" I raised my eyebrow, smirking.
"No, just wanted to know if you had something to wear." He teased.
"Ah, I see."
"Well, my lady, would you like to have spare clothes?" He said bowing slightly to me.
