"You're dumping me?!" the girl hollered next to me. I opened my locker and rolled my eyes. Of all the lockers in the school I had to be next to me the walking STD, James Walkers. Now, Chase has a reputation of going through girls as he does clothes and it's true. I know this first-hand because James always has his little sessions at his locker--which is next to mine.
"We haven't been working out, Emily." James said with an overly-tired expression.
"B-but James! We were absoulty perfect together, I mean everyone's jealous of us!"
From the corner of my eye I saw him shrug as if he could really care less about that tidbit. I've seen this many times and the girls do either one or the other: burst into tears or try to convince James to change his mind.
"James! Baby! Please don't do this to us." she pleaded. Her voice was thick with tears and her black eyes were glossy and sad.
James shook his head without any hesitation and she stormed off, making her heels click against the tiled pavement. I put on my jacket and readied myself to leave the school when I felt a hand on my shoulder. When I turned around James' brown eyes was staring into mine.
"Can I help you?" I asked emotionlessly.
"So, Angel, I'm off the market again so why don't we give it a go?"
"Really?!" I said faking my enthusiam, "Me?! Going out with you?! Why didn't this happen before?" I dropped my tone and made it go monotone, "Oh, that's right. I'd rather lick a slimy frog, and my name's Hayley. If you can't get it right, don't say it at all."
"I like them fiesty," he smirked. His lazy black hair fell just above his eyes. I gave him a dirty look before snatching my shoulder back and meeting my friend, Stacey just a few feet before the entrance door. When she saw me she gave me a secretive smile that made me want to turn back. Stacey has envious blond hair and light blue eyes that seem as if light was always shinining on them.
"He so wants you." she said bluntly as I arrived.
"Why, hello to you too."
She smiled at me and casually handed me a cigarette right in front of the school as if it was a piece of paper. Then, without giving me a chance to protest she walked out the door, leaving me behind. "James is such a douche. He dumped yet another girl." I commented once I'm in the driver's seat of my car.
"That's the third one this month." Stacey said, inhaling the smoke and breathing it out in the car. I put down my window and pointed at it, which she responded by rolling her eyes.
"I know that. I always witness them. I think it's just rude that he thinks he can get any girl he wants and just drop her like that. Someone needs to teach him a lesson."
"Oh, yeah? Why don't you do it?"
"Excuse me?"
"He's already working on you. You might as well give in, then break him before he breaks you."
The thought ran through my head and the picture of James stranded alone in the hall for once clouded my head. It'd be nice to be called "the girl who dumped James." A slow smile spread over my face. Maybe it was time that James learns his lesson.
