Jason's POV

Kota decided to stay at my house for the night (no not to do that you dirty minded people!) after her party.  It was late so she didn't want to drive home.  I had given her her birthday presents at the party, a necklace with a silver heart on it that I had gotten engraved to say "I love you Kota, forever and always ~ Jason."  She had loved it and put it on immediately, but what she really freaked over was the ticket to PAX I had given her.  She was coming to PAX with me!  Now we decided just to watch a movie so we were just sitting on the couch watching Grown Ups and eating popcorn, my arm was around her neck.

As we laughed at the strange but hilarious movie, the power suddenly went out.  We both glanced out the windows only to see that the neighbors still had power.  "Jasooon, What's happening?" Kota said, snuggling up into my chest.

I wrapped my arms around her.  "I don't know."  She hid her head under my arm.  "Are you afraid of the dark?"

Her voice was muffled since she was speaking into my arm but I could understand what she said.   "No, not really, just power outages."

"Well, it's just a power outage, nothing to..." I stopped talking when I head what sounded like footsteps.  I got up off of the couch and stood in a crouching position as I took Kota's hand.  "Get down."  She nodded as I kneeled down behind the couch.  She was about to do the same, but then she fell to the ground.  I gasped and looked up to see a person standing there.  I stood up and darted to the other side of the room where all of the power cords and stuff were, fumbling to get the power on again.  The lights flashed on and I was able to clearly see the face of the person standing there.

"Lindsay?"

"Yep, it's me baby."  She left the spot where Kota's limp body was laying on the couch and approached me.  She smiled and took my hand.  "I missed you baby."  Then she kissed me on the lips.

I was shocked for a moment, then I shoved her away from me, making her stumble backwards and fall on the floor.  "What do you think you're doing?!"  I yelled.

"Baby, I decided to take you back."  She said standing up and looking at me.

"No, don't 'baby' me.  I broke up with you for a reason you know.  You were a control freak!  You were a selfish brat!"

"Baby, there's no reason to yell."  She walked back up to me and placed her hand on my cheek.  I quickly pushed it off and backed away.

"I have every right to yell!  You broke into my house and knocked out my girlfriend, then kissed me!  That's not right, that's, I don't even know!  It's sick!"

She crossed her arms.  "Oh come on, you have to admit I'm better than, that reject."  She pointed to Kota.

Okay, I was angry before, now I am outraged.  I walked up to her and shoved her backwards, trying so hard not to just punch her in the face.  "I happen to love that girl with all my heart, Lindsay.  She is not a reject, she is the best thing that ever happened to me." I got my face really close to hers and stared into her eyes.  "And I never loved you Lindsay.  All the time we were dating I hated you!  I still do!"  I backed away and she gasped.  Then her fist connected with my face, right at my eye and I stumbled back, putting a hand to my head.  Then I stepped forward and threw a hard punch at Lindsay.  She stood there shocked.  I took the opportunity to take her left arm and twist it behind her back, holding her other arm straight so she couldn't punch me again.  Then I heard sirens, thank god.  A neighbor must have called the cops.

Two men in police uniforms came in and handcuffed Lindsay.  One of them led her out of the house while the other question me on what happened.  I explained everything to him and then thanked him as he left.  I turned to Kota and kneeled down beside her, gently shaking her body.  "Kota, wake up, please wake up."

Thankfully her eyes fluttered open and she propped herself up on her elbows.  I told her what had happened then went to find some motrin.  I came back with the pain medicine and a glass of water.  She thanked me and took a sip of water, followed by the pill.  We then checked for signs of a concussion, thank god she didn't have one.

She smiled up at me but it quickly faded.  "What?" I asked.

"Jason, your eye."  I put my finger up to it and felt that it was slightly swollen and kind of hurt to the touch so I pulled my finger away quickly.  I stood up and went to get some ice, coming back with a small bag of crushed ice pressed to my face.  I kissed Kota on the cheek as I sat next to her.  I don't know when, but eventually we ended up falling asleep.

I woke up in the morning with my arms around Kota and her head on my shoulder.  I smiled, reaching up to brush some hair away from my face and winced when my hand came in contact with the area around my eye.  Kota opened her eyes and smiled up at me.  She took one look at my eye and sighed.  "Jason, I think you should go to the doctor."

I shook my head.  "No, I'll be fine."  I stood up.  Truthfully, I just hated doctors, something about them.  They always seemed to tell you the bad news.

We argued about whether or not I should go to the doctor for a good ten minutes before I gave in and let Kota drive me there.

Time skip cause I'm lazy

"All right Jason, it looks like your eye is going to be fine, no permanent damage."  I sighed in relief, for once a doctor gave good news!  He went on about putting ice and warm compresses on it and then finally left the room.

Kota stood up from her chair.  "Ready to go?"  I nodded and we left the room together.
