In my hand I could still feel the heart-shaped masterpiece. I took another bite of the delicious art and smiled. Everything looked much better somehow, now that I was better informed and had someone telling me I could make things easier for myself.
The sweet-salty sugar cookie disappeared from my hands in a matter of moments as I waited in the awkward empty space between worlds.
This in-between place made me think that maybe someone hadn't thought things through; if everything was connected it would be much easier to travel. Maybe even meet people.
I hadn't thought of that until now.
I haven't met that many people in one day (I think? I have no idea how long it's been- hopefully not long) than I have in my life.
I don't know if that says much.
When I wasn't suddenly tugged into another world, I sighed with relief. This whole experience was actually rather exhausting, and all I wanted was to go back and see Adam and Karen and eat cloud cakes.
I was thinking about the training this morning, or whenever it was- I couldn't really remember anymore. Adam, Karen and Kei have already found their talents, and I have to stick with not using mine on account of the fact that I don't know what mine are, or if I even have any.
I felt the sickeningly familiar burden slam down on my shoulders. It forced me down onto my knees, trying to squash me. My shoulders were screaming in pain. My spine curled under the weight in an effort to distribute it. My chest was forced into my knees until I was curled up against the invisible floor in the in-between space.
I don't know what I'm meant to do. I don't know what I'm good at.
I'm useless.
The word fell over me, chaining me up and pinning me down.
