"Kelsey! Mike! Wake up! You're gonna be late for school!" I yell throwing on a pair of skinny jeans and a pink tank top with a denim jean jacket
"I'm up!" They yell back in unison,
"I'm leaving in 5 minutes, so if you guys want a ride you better hurry up!" My mother yells up the stairs,
"Ok!" I yell to her,
I grab my bag and books and run down the stairs to the kitchen. I brush my teeth and walk to the coffee maker to make some coffee. I grab my travel mug and set it down on the counter and my phone rings. I look at the caller idea and see that it's Jake calling.
"Hello?" I answer,
"Good morning beautiful." He says
"Good morning." I smile
No guy has ever called me beautiful not even my old boyfriend from back home.
"Need a ride?" He asks,
"Not really. My mom is giving me a ride." I tell him
"So you're gonna give up a chance to get a ride with me and joe to get a ride with your mom?"
"Well....I guess I could just tell my mom I don't need a ride."
"Do that. We'll be there in 10. Ok?"
"Ok." I say and we hang up.
I set my phone back down onto the counter and pour the coffee into my cup. After adding the sugar and cream I turn around to see my mom standing in the doorway. Arms crossed and a look of concern covering her face.
"Who was that?" She asks
"God mom, do you have to know everything." I sigh,
"I'm your mother, which means I do have to know everything."
"It was my friends from school, the ones I was skating with. Joe and Jake, they're gonna give me a ride."
"Ok. Just remember Ariana, be careful. I don't want to have to move again just because of your irresponsible choices." She warns me,
"Ok." I answer and screw the lid for my travel mug, I walk by her and to the closet. I throw on my black heeled boots and sit on the bench beside the door.
Kelsey and mike emerge from the dinning room with granola bars in there hands. They walk to the closet and throw on the sneakers and there spring jackets.
"Bye Ariana." Mike and Kelsey say before walking out the car,
"If you're ride doesn't get here in the next five minutes start walking." My mother tells me
I nod my head and slouch down onto the bench. I hear her start the engine and pull out of the driveway which leaves me alone to think.
It's my second day at school and already I've become friends with two hot guys! I just don't understand why they would want to be friends with me. I mean I'm not pretty, I get average grades, I have the ugliest laugh and I act like a dude. And if they're not turned off by those flaws what will happen if they found out what I did back in Florida?
My thoughts get interrupted by a honk. I pick up my bag books and slip my phone into my back pocket before I get up and walk out the door. When I get outside Jake opens the passenger door and hops out. He rushes over to me and grabs the books from my hands.
"What are you doing?" I ask confused,
"Well a true gentleman would not let you carry your books, so here I am carrying them for you."
