Tokyo Ghoul Kaneki x Reader

Chapter 7

You lay in your room, wishing for all of this to be over soon, so that you could go back into hiding, and be alone at last. You roll around on your bed trying to get comfy. When you finally decide to smother your face into the pillow, and some reason you actually fell asleep.

DREAM

A younger you ran down the white hallway, singing to a song that was in your head. (any song you want). When you come to a halt, you see your mother and father smiling. You smile big and reach up for them. Then you stopped, their eyes stared at you cold, even though they were smiling, their eyes showed nothing but pure coldness. "Mom? Dad?" you ask, you begin to back away. "Your the 15th subject sweetie you should be happy! you're the only one who has lasted this long!" a nurse says with pride, younger you shakes her head. "No...please" you gasp, you turn around and begin to run. "You can't escape!" younger you hears your father laugh, "Honey don't you want to be loved?!" mother asks, "it will be over before you know it!" a nurse purrs with a smiles, younger you trips over something invisible, and when you land on your back a table appears under you, strapping you down. "No! I don't want to be loved!" older you shouts.

DREAM OVER

You open your eyes, there you where still in bed. You let out a heavy sigh. You rub your arm, feeling as if you would of been injected by a needle if you hadn't woken up, you knew it was a dream, but having to relive that, was not something you wanted to go through again. 

"(Y/NNNN)!" you hear Shin scream. "Geez oh peats Shin what is it?" you moan as you sit up staring at the door as it burst open, "Albino man is here" she gasps. You frown. "Kaneki?" you mumble his name. "Goodness" you slowly get out of bed, and make your way towards the door. "Good.." you look at the clock on the wall "good morning Kaneki" you greet. "good morning (Y/N)" he greets back. "would you like coffee?" you ask, gesturing towards the coffee pot that was next to Yun. "yes please" he replies, "well make yourself at home?" you suggest, as you make your way towards the pot, you end up pouring 5 mugs of coffee, since everyone decided at that moment they wanted some too. "What do you want Kaneki? its-" you look at the clock again "its 7 in the morning." "actually its 10" Kaneki corrects you, "huh? no its-" you look at the clock, noticing it was actually 10 am. "Sorry I'm more of a phone clock kinda of person" you mutter, trying to hid your shame. Kaneki chuckles, you stare at him, you never heard him make that sound before, "are you making fun of me?!" you demand, squinting your eyes at him. "No no!" he speaks fast, and puts his hands in front of him, as if preparing for you to hit him. "Hmph" you relax on the couch, Kaneki sat across from you. 

"I came to give you a file Eto wanted me to give to you before the mission" Kaneki says, a folder was already on the coffee table. You slowly reach over and snatch it. "Oh, the buildings statistics" you mutter as you look at the contents. "And I also wanted...to uh.. apologize for earlier." Kaneki mutters the last part. "What for?" you ask trying to remember. "It was not my place to...tell you how you should treat your mother" he whispers. "Oh" you stare at the folder blankly. You give a small sigh, "its..fine" you mutter looking up, your eyes meeting his grey ones. "You don't have to apologize." you whisper with a small smile. Kaneki stands up suddenly. "Oh are you leaving?" you ask standing up as well. "Yes I have more business to attend to." he speaks quietly and heads for the door, "Oh okay, thanks for the file" you walk him out to the door. "See you later I guess" you speak motionless. Trying to go back to your stern cold self. "You should try being your self...your smiling self" Kaneki quickly speaks quietly as well. "Huh?" you open your eyes wide to what he said, "Cold doesn't suit you like it does your mother" he says looking away from you. "Kan-Kaneki" you hesitate. "Take care (Y/N)" he says and quickly disappears down the hallway, leaving a stunned you in the door way. "Smiling self" his words echoed in your mind. "Idiot" you grumble shaking the words from your head. You stomp once for some reason and nod your head then slam the door shut, "Uh..(Y/N)?" Shin asks poking her head around the corner, "HE IS SUCH AN IDIOT!" you growl, clenching your fist. "Uh okaaaay" Shin laughs awkwardly and backs away.

FLASHBACK KANEKI POV

I watch as (Y/N) storms off from Aogiri, I know I shouldn't of said what I did, but no one should treat their parents like that. "I'm sad that you talk to me so cold sweety" her mother says, "Stop it." (Y/N) growls, I can still remember the hurt, agony, and despair in her eyes when she saw her mother. If my mother was still alive, I would of loved to be with her no matter what. What could of made (Y/N) have so much hate towards her mother? I make my way back to where I had left Eto and Mrs. (L/N).

When I arrived, Mrs. (L/N) had already left. "Your probably wondering why I brought (Y/N) and her mother here." Eto purrs as she sits on the ledge of the table. "Its not my place to ask" I mumble. "Well here you go! a gift!" Eto smiles handing a huge file to me. "What is this?" I ask "everything about (Y/N) and her mother" Eto speaks as if she was exploiting the biggest secret ever. I stare down at the file. Everything in this had the answers to why (Y/N) disliked her mother. I ended up taking it back to my room.

I slowly open the file, as if something might pop out. Right off the bat it begins to speak about how (Y/N) was a test subject number 15. Her parents Mr. (L/N) Otamo and Mrs. (L/N) Sakura. Her parents had been making a super Ghoul enhancer for ghoul genes and tested out on young ghouls, but everyone died within a month, but then they tried it on their own daughter and she survived longer then any subject, so they gave her more and more, soon they began to field test her abilities against other ghouls. When (Y/N) was 13 she was exiled from the program for letting a ghoul live, but that ghoul was killed off anyways since he could tell others about what was going down. At the end in bold letters EFFTP (EXILED FOR FAILURE TO PROCEED)

I close the file, I now understood (Y/N)'s pain. I felt bad for what I said. I decided to apologize to her when I could as soon as possible. "We have a lot in common" I whisper, and pull out the book that (Y/N) had suggested. I smile as I begin to leap into the world of the book.
