Tokyo Ghoul Kaneki x Reader

Chapter 14

The water slowly crawled up the wooden posts, as the waves pushed back and forth. At the bottom of the ocean lay a drowning ghoul.

Haku stood at the waters edge and stared down at the dark water. "Forgive me Y/N" he whispered under his breath.  He turned towards the armored suit. Shin and the others had escaped while Y/N had stalled for them, what had led to her own demise. "Lets go. You and CCG can come back tomorrow and gather her remains." Haku stated as he walked past the two CCG officers. Haku didn't dare look back at the ocean. He never wanted to see it again. For all he could see or think about was his betrayal. He knew deep down he could never forgive himself.

Shin led the others through the dark paths, trying to get everyone as far away as she could. "We left her! we need to go back-" "She's gone" Shin cut Yun off. "We shouldn't of left." Satoko said stopping, as he held Dr. Ling with one hand. "Tsk...Don't you think I know that! she was our leader! and what happened..." Shin glared down at her feet. "Haku betrayed us all...betrayed us...Y/N...We cannot forgive him for what he has done." Shin whispered. "Y/N didn't deserve to go like that. She didn't deserve that at all" Yun muttered. "We can't do anything now" Shin whispered. A dark heavy presence appeared above them "Did he find us already?!" Shin gasped pulling her kagune out. But to everyone's surprise the one above them was Kaneki.

"Kaneki?" Shin gasped wide eyed. Kaneki looked at the group of ghouls. "Where is Y/N?" he asked. Shin bit her lip. "She..." Shin noticed Kaneki's eyes open wide or for a split second. Then he disappeared. "She's gone Kaneki! don't go that way!" Shin shouted.

Kaneki POV

I was to late Kaneki growled in his mind as he went as fast as he could to the dock. He landed on the dock, he could smell many scents, armor, Shin and her groups scent and a scent he didn't recognize and then there was Y/N scent. He followed it towards the edge of the ocean. He took off his long coat and without hesitating he jumped in. He swam down using his kagune's to make him faster. He could see a form at the bottom.  Small air bubbles past him. He could see her shape under the mass of chains. He shot his kagune's down snapping the chains. He slowly reached down putting his arms around her broken form and raised her up and quickly swam up. He broke the surface with Y/N in his arms. He slowly made his way out of the water back onto the dock. Laying her form gently on the dock. "Y/N?" he whispered touching the side of her wet face. She wasn't breathing. He began compressions. "5 6 7 8" he counted under his breath once he got to 30 and he forced air down her mouth hoping her lungs would snap back and begin healing. "Come...on" he huffed as he kept compressions up. "Y/N!"

3rd person view

White...Everything was white...Y/N lay or maybe she was standing...she didn't know, everything was just white. no shapes no forms nothing except her. "Wh-at? happened?" she asked to herself and looked around. "Am I dead?" she slowly walked forward. "Hello?" she asked out hoping someone would answer. "Wait..." she stopped walking as she soon remembered the turn of events. "Shin?! Yun!? Satoko!? where are you guys!" she shouted running forward hoping she could find her teammates. "Dead" an eerie voice echoes. "uh...who's there?" Y/N asked. "You don't remember me?" the light voice called out again and in front of Y/N appeared a little girl.  "Natsumi"

The girl was a younger version of Y/N. As usual her hair was down with one braid in the back down the middle, and her eyes staring up at Y/N and her jean vest had its usual pinfeather in it.  "Why are you sad?" she asked her E/C eyes full of concern. "Sad?" "Your hurt..." Natsumi whispered. "Its okay! we can be together!" she smiled hugging Y/N tightly "Natsumi" Y/N whispered hugging her younger sister. "You haven't aged at all" She whispered as she patted her younger sisters head. "Of course not...I'm dead" she backed away and smiled. "Dead" Y/N whispered. "Come on everyone's waiting! Mito, Thresh, Zuko, Yukine, and even Patchiko" Natsumi named off other test subjects who were their friends while they were tested on. Mito and Zuko died the first year, and Thresh and Patchiko died a few years after that. Mito on the other hand sacrificed himself the day Natsumi and Y/N tried to escape. Yet, Natsumi died as well. "Natsumi...I-" "Y/N!"  a new voice echoed throughout the whiteness That voice?  Y/N recognized that voice. "Kaneki?" she turned away from her sister. "Sis? what are you doing?" Natsumi asked confused. 

"Don't you love me anymore?" Y/N turned facing her sister. "I..." Y/N didn't know what to do. She had longed to be with her sister...but now that she had the chance... "(Y/N)!" Kaneki's voice rang out again. All of a sudden it felt as if the air was absorbed in Y/N lungs making her collapse to her knees. "Come with us!" Natsumi begged grabbing Y/N hand and pulling. "No...I can't" Y/N gasped. "Please! I want to be with you now! Y/N! please I've been waiting!" Natsumi cried out her big E/C orbs full of heartache. "I don't want to wait anymore!" Natsumi begged pulling harder. "I can't I'm sorry" Y/N muttered, her voice shaking from all of the heart ache she was feeling. "We'll be together one day I promise" Y/N whispered pulling her hand away and turning herself around. "KANEKI!" Y/N screams, reaching her hand out "DON'T LEAVE ME!" Natsumi cried out, Y/N forced her hand out hoping to grab something but instead she grabbed darkness and fell into the dark once again.

Kaneki POV

"Y/N!" I said again over and over hoping by calling her name she would come back, but nothing was happening she still wasn't breathing. "Da** it" I forced air down once more, and began compressing again "Y/N" I called out once more and with that Y/N began to cough, water began pouring from her mouth. "That's it get it out" I whispered patting her back as I helped her to one side, to make it easier for her.

Once she had stopped coughing and was taking shivery breaths of air. I held her up. "Nat-Natsumi" she whispered, her eyes still closed, then she slowly fell into silence. I slowly lifted the exhausted Y/N. I had to take her somewhere she would be safe. A place comes across my mind. "You'll be safe there..I know you will" I promised as I held her with one arm and picked up my long coat I had left on the floor when I dived in, and put it around her, then picked her up bridal style. I was going to take her to the one place I knew she would be safe at. Anteiku.
