Chapter 16

Your POV

Silence filled the air as you sat on the sofa, you were staring at the wall.  Feeling like something was behind the luminous wall, but you didn't bother getting up to check, you felt like something held you to the sofa, urging you not to go. "(Y/N) isn't it time to go pick up Natsumi?" Haku asked as he walked into the room. "Oh..Haku" you whisper turning your head towards the older ghoul. "Are you okay? you've been acting strange?" he asks, you tilt your head. "I'm fine?" you stand up and smile. "Nothings wrong" you say reassuring yourself that everything was fine. "Get a move on girl! go go" Haku shooed you out towards the doorway. "Okay okay! geez you old geezer" you grumbled.

3rd person POV

Kaneki walked towards Touka and the doctor. "You found something?" Kaneki asked hoping the doctor had found something to help (Y/N) "Well...yes and no" the doc explained unsure if that was the answer the white headed ghoul wanted. "Well you see I believe she-miss (Y/N) is stuck or more like a prisoner to her own mind" "prisoner? to her own mind?" Touka asked with a stern look. "I mean it makes sense in its own way." Hinami whispers, the young ghoul was sitting beside (Y/N) sleeping form. "Well...okay if she was in her own mind...imprisoned, how do we help her?" Kaneki asked. "I have a few ideas but not good ones." The doctor laughed with uncertainty.

Your POV

"(Y/NNNNN) for goodness sakes did you have to hit him?!" Natsumi demanded You had hit a young man who thought it would be funny to slap your rear when you and Natsumi walked by him. "He deserved way more then a hit" You stated as you rub your fist. "Why does Kaneki like you? your so abusive" Natsumi mumbles. "I am not!" you snap glaring at your laughing sister. "Well I guess as long as Kaneki doesn't mind having such a terrible girlfriend I don't really mind" Natsumi says looking up at you. "Gi-girlfriend?! don't be stupid...its nothing like that!" you demand looking away, your face reddening a little. "Sure sure not fooling anyone" Natsumi grumbles.

Later on

Kaneki and Haku were talking about who knows what at the counter, Touka had just walked in with Hinami. Natsumi and you walked in soon after. "Hey guys!" Natsumi ran over to Hinami. While Kaneki gives you a slight wave before he begins talking to Haku.

3RD person POV

"See I have this machine that hasn't been fully tested yet and its all classified hush hush stuff so I can't say much. But what I can say is that one of us is hooked up to it with these cords here-" The doctors explains the machine and the cords in his hands. "And with the other cords on the other side, we hook it up to (Y/N) and then hopefully and successfully the person's consciousness will transfer into her mind and be able to again hopefully snap her back into reality.  Without causing permanent damage to her mental health or....vise versa...like I said its all hush hush" the doctor finished with a big exhaling breath. "And if it doesn't work?" Touka asked unsure if the entire thing would blow up killing both people hooked to the machine. "well...if worse comes to worse. (Y/N) dies and so can the other person or! their minds switch bodies...heh...and uh well or both are lost in her mind" "that's a lot of ifs" Hinami whispered "That's only a few I didn't even mention the oozing one-" "Lets do it" Kaneki whispers. "No way...its to dangerous!" Touka gasped grabbing onto Kaneki's arm. "I know...that you have some sort of feelings for her but...maybe we should just put her out of her misery. Do you really think she would want to come back?" Touka stated, worry in her eyes. "Everyone deserves to live Touka. She would do the same for her team and for us too. She doesn't...deserve this...any of this" Kaneki says while staring into Touka's eyes. "I won't watch this. I wont watch you both die." Touka shook her head and left in a huff. "Lets go doc" Kaneki said grabbing the cords. "Are you certain? I have no idea if it will be painful or what you'll see" the doctor warned. Kaneki looked at (Y/N) face. "I'm sure" "Alright then."

Your POV

You felt a weird buzzing feeling in the back of your hand and soon a strange vibrating sound echoed throughout the room. "Do you guys hear that?" you ask "No?" Natsumi states as everyone else agrees with her. "No for real guys that vibrating humming noise?" you say looking around the room. When Kaneki began to fall over. "Kaneki?!"

Kaneki POV

After the doctor had hooked me up to the machine he hooked up (Y/N). "Okay are you ready Kaneki?" "I guess so" I said closing my eyes. Please don't let us die. "Oh one more thing...remember its all fake no matter how real it may seem" the doctor said and with those last words the doctor hit the switch and everything went grey. And then a weird buzzing sound surrounded my mind I felt lighter, and the buzzing noise got louder, and my hand began to feel numb.

Until all the grey went black, and then I found myself on a floor? I wasn't alone either there were people standing all around me...(Y/N) was kneeling beside me caressing my head. "Are you okay?" she asked, her (E/C) eyes wide with worry and concern. "(Y/N)..." I gasp and sit up wrapping my arms around her. "You're okay" I mutter holding her tightly, she felt so real, she didn't feel fake at all. "Of course I am? your...you're acting strange Kaneki" she laughed shoving my arm. "Kaneki what happened?" a new voice asked. My eyes widen as I see the dead girl I saw in (Y/N) profile. Natsumi (L/N). "How?...your...dead" I whisper. "What? Kaneki? you must of hit your head hard?" (Y/N) mutters.

Your POV

"Natsumi is alive? remember? Haku rescued her and me? then you and I met shortly after? man maybe you have a concussion" you state rubbing your hand on Kaneki's temples. "(Y/N)...I need you to listen to me" Kaneki whispers taking hold of your hand. "None of this is real".
