Chapter 17

Your POV

"None of this is real"

 The words echoed throughout the room "what?" you ask, you stand up slowly and back away. "Of course it is" you let out a small laugh. Kaneki slowly stood up. "I'm not lying." Kaneki said. His eyes full of conviction and determination to prove all of this was fake. "I think you need a doctor" "(Y/N) listen to me please...I wouldn't lie to you, please you need to remember" "what do I need to remember?.. you're freaking me out" you demand. "Haku isn't here...he betrayed you remember? remember your mission? your team?" "what?" "You have to remember you can't just forget! that's selfish" Kaneki grabbed your hand tightly, his hand was shaking. "Kaneki you need help...its okay everything will be fine" you try to calm him down. "No no no nothing is fine! none of this is real! you can't hide here" hide? Haku? soon after thinking of Haku, Haku disappeared from the room. "Haku wha-" soon Touka and Hinami disappeared as well. "What's going on???" you gasp "You and I are real (Y/N)" Kaneki says squeezing your hand. "Natsumi? what is happening?" you ask turning towards your sister. "I don't know" she gasped her eyes full of worry. "She isn't real." "of course she is" "She's not here (Y/N)" Kaneki says grabbing both of your hands. "She's right here!" "Natsumi is dead" you froze staring into Kaneki's eyes. "dead" the words echoed.

The room then morfed into a dark room with grey walls and white tiling. "No" You gasp "why...why are we here?" you gasp. Your memory slowly began to creep in, making your heartbeat begin to speed up. "Kaneki why?" you began looking around desperately "no no no this didn't happen" the door opens and two people rush in. "I'm scared" one whispered. "Shh its going  to be fine." the older one says shutting the door behind them and putting a chair under the handle. "Hurry help me move the table to the vent" the older girl said pushing the table with the younger one towards the vent. The older one climbed up on to the table helping her sibling up onto the table. The older girl opened the vent with her string like kagune and lifted her self up into the vent. "Kaneki I don't want to be here...make this stop" you whisper, fear in your voice.

The door blasted open and several ghouls ran in. The younger girl held onto her siblings hand. when a ghoul grabbed her "No!!! (Y/N)" the younger girl cried out. "no please stop!" you cry out. The little girl turned around and used her kagune to get away from the ghoul. She reached her hand up towards the vent were her sister was. "Natsumi" the younger you reached down for Natsumi. "(Y/N)" Natsumi cried out, and with that blood splattered across the wall as one of the attacking ghouls kagune went through the Natsumi's tiny form. The fear in Natsumi eyes burned into your eyes. "Natsumi!" you cry out reaching for your baby sister, and soon everything faded away and you stood with Kaneki alone in a small log house dining room.

You slowly collapse to your knees, letting go of Kaneki's hand. "Nat..Natsumi" you whisper her name as if her name was a foreign word.

"Why" you whisper,. You clench your fists. "Why would you make me remember something like that" you demand tears filling your face. "Natsumi" you cry covering your face. "I'm sorry (Y/N)" Kaneki whispered, kneeling down and putting his hand on yours. "Why would I want to leave this place? everything was fine...I don't care if its all a lie...everyone...was...here...." you cry out. "but its not real...its not living" "I don't care! I would rather have a fake life with everyone I care about here! then have no one! I'd rather be selfish! why can't I have something for once?!" you cry as you stare at Kaneki. "I can't do anything right in the living at least here I don't have to remember but...now..." "(Y/N) you are one amazing ghoul. your brave, loyal, caring, and...your strong. You may of messed up but...we all do...we lose people, people we love but...do you honestly think they would want you to give up on life?!" Kaneki spoke with concern and he squeezed your hand tightly "Stop pitying yourself and live for your sisters sake live for me live for...yourself" You stare blankly at Kaneki the tears slowly stopped. "Live...for you?" you whisper.
