As if we are the exact same people, Kai and I both freeze with what we're doing at the exact same time. It's like as if the glitch in the sky did something to disrupt Kai's... functions.

"I cannot move, Krystal." He panics and grunts and groans as he struggles to move his limbs. I wriggle out of his arms and then I grab his arms that are stuck in the same position it has been in for a few minutes.

They are solid. So-lid.

"Krystal, help me!" He screams as my brain tries to figure out what to do. So the sky just glitches, my partner just like shuts down basically, and...

I look around and absolutely nothing is moving. The leaves that were dancing around are now just a portrait to my eyes; the cars that honked at the others now are like an antique at a museum.

Then everything goes back to normal. The people start to move and talk again without much change in their expression, but some others seem like they just crawled back from hell, all pale and vampire-like. It's loud again, unlike the few seconds ago.

I look back at Kai and he's on the ground, hugging his knees close to his chest. Out of the few days I've known him, I've never seen him like this before. He's always been smiling, joking around when he can with me.

However, seeing him so afraid of something makes me worried that something's terribly wrong.

"I... I don't want..." He cries and wipes his face off with his hands. It's confusing, what he's saying. Everything is a mess; I just don't know where to begin with the problems I just experienced in a matter of minutes.

"Kai." I lift him up into my arms and pull him towards my chest. Listen to my heart pound because of you, Kai.

"Soojung-ah, I can't—" He whimpers but then stops. I realize it myself within a second; he just said my real name instead of my game name. He used 'Soojung' instead of 'Krystal'.

"Kai, what did you just say?" I ask but get nothing but a couple whimpers. I grab his shoulders and push him away from my chest so I can get a good look at him. "Are you even in the right state of mind?!"

He shakes his head.

"I don't know if I'm okay. I... never mind." He pushes the palms of his hands against his temples and begins to cry, in unison with the rain that starts to fall onto us.
