Looking down into the clear colors of the pool, I slip my foot into it just to test the temperature of the water. As I expected it to be, I pull my foot out a millisecond after it goes into the water. Chilly, once again.
"Hun, just jump in. You'll get used to it." Kai walks to my side and sticks his own foot into it. I try to hold back my laughter but ultimately fail when he flails his leg around and starts screaming.
"You're going in first!" He playfully pushes me, which almost causes me to fall straight into the pool with my over-clothes on.
"I'm not going in. Not today." I walk towards our beach chairs but he pulls me into his arms. They're draped closely to my abdomen, almost as if he's about to do a heimlich on me.
He lifts me off my feet and then attempts to carry me over the surface of the water, but I cannot touch this water. I will not let myself become an ice cube and drown to my death.
"Let go of me!" I continue screaming as I feel myself slipping away from his arms. "My glasses are still on!" I blurt as an excuse for him to just let me touch land again, but I'm obviously not that dumb to think he'll fall for something like that.
He pulls the black glasses off the bridge of my nose and just chucks them onto the wet ground like it's worth absolutely nothing.
Kai spins me around to look at him but he says nothing.
As I'm about to scream for my glasses again, I feel my body being pulled into the pool by the force of Kai's arms. We land into the Antarctic water and his arms float away from me, allowing me to swim to the top of I have to.
I feel his hands grab the back of my neck, sending a wave of love down my spine. Bubbles escape his mouth as he says something I cannot comprehend.
My lungs aren't feeling to happy right now because I didn't take a good breath of air before coming down here. The patience I used to have now counts down like a ticking bomb.
A few small bubbles leave his mouth again while his hands move forward towards my cheeks. He probably can't tell but I'm blushing.
His eyes quickly look down as if he's about to say something else but it's reversed when he does something.
A second kiss.
