I, for some reason, cannot touch him to make sure he's even breathing. Well, of course he is but its just my nature to make sure someone is alright.
When I about think that he's perfectly fine, his body starts to twitch in large movements which looks like he's being shocked by some electricity. Gasps come out of his mouth that makes him sound like he's struggling.
"Kai? Are you— of course you're not..." I whisper, putting my hands on his neck. Scooping him up into my arms, I gently slap his face several times to have him wake up.
The twitching stops for a second and then his eyes flutter open. Just a few minutes ago, they were ghostly white but now they're red as a rose. The veins, I mean, no the actual white part of the eye.
"What are you doing...?" He whispers, rolling off of my lap. "Why were you hugging me like that?" He stares at me like I'm some sasaeng fan stalking him around the place.
"You were just twit—"
"You don't love me, so why were you just even holding me like a baby?"
Does he not remember anything?
"I brought you up into this room because my other self thought it'd be fun to play around with you but I'm normal again... I'm not so controlled..." His breathing starts to pick up again but it gets slower as he gets into the bed and doesn't say another word.
What does he mean by controlled? Do NPCs realize that they're not real and just accept the fact that they're literally controlled by the game makers?
I don't say anything and spin around to leave the room. My feet continue to move across the rooms when I hear him whisper my name. Before I say anything in reply, I stop moving and turn around.
He's sitting on the bed with hugs legs crossed under the blanket staring at me with saddened eyes.
"Krystal, did I offend you?"
"No." I bluntly say.
After a few seconds of silence, he whips the blanket to the side and climbs off the bed. My cheeks come to an array of red shades as he begins to walk to me.
He takes my hand and just places it between both of his. His pulse, I should say the one he's given, starts to beat in sync with mine as if we're both just one person.
"I swear I'm not trying to hurt you, but you have to understand that what you just did hurt me."
The saliva in my mouth goes dry from my mouth so agape.
An answer doesn't come out of my mouth when he just yanks me with him towards the bed. I almost curse at him, but I want to keep my innocent image alive.
Kai pulls me onto the bed, laying me down beside him. Being a good "boyfriend" he is, he takes the ponytail out of my hair so my head doesn't get pounded by it as I lay down.
I stare at his perfect features as he slides the ponytail down my wrist. His eyes remind me of rich, dark almonds that are covered in almonds, his lips remind me of a pink cherry blossom...
"Am I that hot that you just stare at me like that?"
"Am I not allowed to stare at my boyfriend?"
Shots. Fired.
He whistles the "damnn" tune and slides in next to me under the covers but faces the opposite side of my face. I guess I'm just going to have to stare at the bright stars outside, then.
As I'm about to die of exhaustion and about to fall asleep, he says one last thing before I pass out:
"I'm too tired right now to give out your punishment for saying that to me... I'm just going to do it to you in the morning." He whispers and then goes completely silent.
Well, I know I'm not going to sleep very well tonight.
