The empty hall surrounds me as I run towards the hotel room, looking back every few seconds to make sure he's not following me. Luckily enough, it seems like Minhyuk was only trying to friendly with me.

I stand in front of the hotel door about to wave my wrist over the Scanner when I just suddenly think about what my family is thinking about right now: "Look at this; our Soojung playing a virtual romance game... so unlike her."

I shake my head with the wrist placed directly over the Scanner and push the door open. I quickly scurry inside and then shut the door with my back against it.

"Krystal? You look like you've seen a ghost. Are you alright?" Kai walks out from the corner with a winter coat on. His eyes look as if he just got beaten up by wrinkles and his lips as pale as snow.

I nod my head just to avoid having to telling him about what happened downstairs and walk over to the counter to get some water for Kai. I'm especially worried for him right now; he was just fine last night but now he looks and sounds like he just got himself back from a hangover.

As if he can read my mind, he tells me to set the glass cup back down onto the counter and follow him to the bed. Doing as he says like some slave, I let the glass hit the marble with a clink then walk into the "bedroom".

"Can you hold my hand while I fall asleep...? If I sleep a lot tonight, I'll feel all better tomorrow and we can have a glorious date tomorrow."

Wow, Kai, that's such convincing persuasion.

"But I need to go take a show—" I point to the bathroom with my right hand but it doesn't make it up all the way when he grabs it. He jolts himself into his sleeping position first before forcing me to lay beside him.

"You'll get used to this, Krystal... you will..." he already sounds half-asleep when he's just began lacing his hands through mine for warmth. In a couple minutes, all he's going to feel is a puddle of water because of me just coming back from the pool without a towel.

"I really wanted to... have a good day..." he closes his eyes and dozes off without finishing his statement. He must've been so exhausted dragging himself around the city today; we should've just stayed here and watch TV or something.

I pull the blankets up to his hips but stop right below his belly button, for I don't want him to sweat a lake because of that winter coat he's wearing. It's actually quite warm in here, so I don't know why he's even wearing that thick piece of clothing.

I rub his knuckles with my thumb and watch him take slow breaths. What did he get that made him this sick? Letting go of a bunch of air through my nostrils, I squeeze his hands tight and blow my breath onto them.

"Today's date was my first and best date I've ever had, Kai..." I whisper, tracing his fingers. Feeling the hormones surge through my body, I pull his hand up to my cheek and just let it rest there.

His hands are warm... like a human's.
