Kayal's POV

After lunch I decided to try my hands on baking. Sara suggested a simple cheese cake recipe. Sara made some yummy chocolate chip cookies. Jaanu made Chakkilalu, an Andhra style savory. It is called as Muruku in Tamil. It is spiral shaped. Making it needs lots of experience. It came out fairly well for a first attempt. I also made my favorite kadalai urundai (peanut candy). In between all these things, I also made batter to make idli for the next day. When the cake was at last set I tried to decorate it. Suddenly, it struck me that today was Salim's birthday. So what if he doesn't want to celebrate, we will celebrate it with our cake. I wrote 'Happy Birthday Salim Ali' on top of the cake. I took a photo of it and posted it in our group. I don't think he will agree to cut the cake. So we cut the cake for ourselves. It was yummy. We packed the remaining cake in a steel container to give it to Salim and his friends. We also took a good share of all the sweets and savories made by us and packed the remaining stuff for the guys.

Salim texted , "Thank you very much. I will be coming around 7:00 p.m with dinner."

I replied, "Thank you. I will be waiting outside our hostel."

Normally, I am the only one to wait outside the hostel for his food. But, today Sara and Jaanu also accompanied me because they were feeling extremely bored. All of us sat in a small wooden bench facing our hostel. Sara started talking about a novel. She mostly prefers poems but occasionally reads novels as well. Sara said, "What is it with these alpha males? These days there are so many books written about these alpha males. Dominating, possessive and sex addicts."

I replied, "I think it is the after effects of 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. Even though there were similar books before that, it became a trendsetter. These days being normal is so under rated that I really take pity for normal men. I also feel bad that Indian writers are also falling prey to such stuff. Agreed, we belong to the land where Kamasutra originated but Kamasutra is all about making love and not just lust."

Sara said, "This kind of alpha male stories may be good to read, they are erotic. But let me tell you, in real life these men must be a pain in the wrong area."

I agreed with her view. "So true. Imagine a guy following you through your mobile GPS. That is not caring. That is plain stalking. They are always filthy rich and control vast empires or hold positions of power."

Sara cringed, "Yeah, right. They are extremely hot and abuse their assets to attract women."

I couldn't agree more, "Possessiveness is exaggerated as a virtue. Every time an alpha male sees his woman talking with another man he gets terribly angry. That sort of possessiveness is creepy."

Saara consented with my opinion, "To add to it, they always check your call logs and messages. That is called as being a control freak."

I said, "And, you know Sara the funny thing is these alpha men always call their girl friends as 'Baby'. Isn't calling a twenty year old woman a baby an insult to her womanhood?"

Sara replied, "Absolutely. Ultimately what these Alpha men want is a woman with a body of twenty years old and mind of five years old."

Jaanu joined in the conversation, "Hey, sometimes isn't it romantic when a guy calls his woman as 'Baby'? Doesn't it show that he is caring?"

Both Sara and me cringed, Sara replied, "Jaanu, it is okay to be pampered once in a while when you are feeling really down. But, when it is done on a daily basis it is awful. To care for a woman doesn't mean that you have to treat her like a baby. Why is it really difficult for men to accept women as women?"
