Freshly showered, smelling of clean soap and comfort, Sanyukta came out in a sky blue kurti and black jeans. She towelled her wet hair and peeped into her room.

Vidushi was nowhere to be seen.

Sanyukta breathed a sigh of relief and walked in.

"Hello there! Are you my other roommate? Please don't be the fashion police too?" A familiar voice broke Sanyukta's train of thought.

Standing before here, wearing a friendly grin was the same chirpy girl who was having a friendly battle with her father.

"Fashion P--Police?" Sanyukta look a look at the girl's fancy pink spectacles, messy bun, off shoulder top in neon pink and skinny jeans "No..You look trendy..I mean..I'm not..." She turned red.

The girl laughed "Thank god. The other one-- what's her name... called me strawberry shortcake and walked off all hoity toity. What's with her?"

"Vidushi you mean? She's a little..." Sanyukta shrugged and then smiled at her other roommate " I'm Sanyukta"

"Kaustuki Sherpa" the fair girl offered her a toothy smile and then a bone crushing hug.

Sanyukta couldn't help but hug the other girl back, feeling Kaustuki's bubbly cheer lighten her spirits.

Maybe she could have atleast one friendly face in her life if not a friend. Because friends...

"Sanyukta. That's a pretty name." Kaustuki smiled.

"Thank you. So is yours. Kaustuki. It's unique." Sanyu smiled back.

It was awkward.

She hadn't come here to make friends.

But Sanyukta found herself taking an immediate liking to the other girl.

"I--" Kaustuki started.

Her stomach interrrupted her with a growl.

"Want to grab a bite to eat?" Kaustuki smiled sheepishly, her eyes widening in mischief.

Sanyukta nodded, remembering the weak tea and the slice of bread she had eaten for breakfast.

"Come on then, Day's wasting." Kaustuki pulled at her hand and practically dragged her out of the room.

"Don't run Kaustuki...we don't even know the way." Sanyukta huffed.

They'd been running around for what felt like an eternity to her protesting tummy.

"We'll find it." Kaustuki was all iron and steel now.

"Let's ask someone please" Sanyukta panted, feeling her lungs burn and her knees go weak.

"Oh come on, what's wrong with you?" Kaustuki let go of Sanyu's hand. "Have a little adventure!"

"The only adventure I want" Sanyukta gave her puppy eyes " is to try something I've never eaten in the canteen."

"How boring. I suppose you are right." Kaustuki frowned. "Let's ask."

Kaustuki steped away, yelling " Excuse me?"

Sanyukta looked around, looking for someone to ask.

Everyone was in a rush, carrying luggage and bags. Someone walked past her with a guitar case.

And there, sitting on a bench, was a boy reading an extremely fat book.

He was looking at the book with such intensity that Sanyukta felt her cheeks redden.

Would be a shame to disturb such a hottie.

Hottie? You did not come here to gawk at any boy no matter how hot he looks.

But he is a perfect combination of brains and booty!

Hot hot hot.

Not not not .

HOT!

She was so engrossed in his studious form that she did not notice where she was going.

Her butt hit the floor and she groaned in pain.

"Sorry! I'm so sorry"

A fearful, hysterical male voice cut into her thoughts.

Ignoring the boy who had made her fall over, Sanyukta stood up and dusted her kurti.

She turned to look at the boy with the book.

He was gone.

Thanks for reading and commenting and voting.
This means a lot to me that you are enjoying this as much as I enjoy writing this.

I'm not a Kaustuki fan. The Randhir lover in me thinks that Kaustuki judges RD too harshly. And Kaustuki in general was far too simple for me to like as much as I like the others.
But Kaustuki was a good friend to Sanyukta and that's what she needs.

Also, two new characters have made their entry.
Any guesses?
