A happy Ganpati week (?) to those who celebrate. I've been able to get some more writing done thanks to the long weekend I've had! Here you go!
"Show off" Randhir's tone was razor sharp and full of malice. His eyes were like bullets, aimed at her face. Ready to go off and cause a fatal injury.
Sanyukta was no stranger to death glares and words dripping with scorn. She did what she knew best.
She smiled at him, a patronizing smile that a high society lady would bestow upon a stray puppy or a beggar child. Just like she'd be endlessly taught.
"I can help you with your studies if you want me too" her voice was dripping with pity and saccharine.
Randhir growled, an action that made him look almost animalistic and uncontrolled.
Sanyukta forced herself to keep staring at him, as if the act of aggression hadn't unnerved her in the slightest. She kept the charity smile on as well, knowing the outcome. That he would stomp away in frustration like most of the men did when their egos were injured.
"You'd better watch out, Agarwal" he hissed, his right hand clutching his pen hard. "I might just take you up on your oh so nice offer and make you do my homework for the rest of the year. I've got the dream team to handle. A captain has many responsibilities and one of them is to delegate work to his subordinates." A smirk curled his lips.
"I'll keep that in mind when I'm captain. Thank you for the kind advice" Sanyukta smiled back. What she really wanted to do was demand to know how dare he call her a subordinate? "You'll be my right hand man if you were any smarter. But you'll do better writing all the boring, complicated reports about the dream team's progress"
"Haven't you heard that building Sandcastles in the air is stupid?" Randhir inquired sharply.
"I make my dreams into my plans, Shekhawat." Sanyukta offered "You'd do well to shut up before I think you are an obstacle to my plan."
"Ofcourse. A cold hearted ambitious woman like you can only think of plans and profit." Randhir mocked her. "No matter who or what gets destroyed in the process."
'Shit. Renuka Ma'am. He thinks I'm like her and that she's a cold hearted person. Not good. Abort.' The warning signs flashed before her eyes.
"You are wrong. It's more about the people" Sanyukta's voice was softer than it was before "It's the Dream Team, not a Dream Dictatorship. I want all of us to succeed together"
"Wow. You should run for Political Parties, Miss Agarwal" Randhir stood up, his chair making a harsh scrapping noise against the floor.
Sanyukta winced "I hate politics."
"Pity. How will you survive this harsh world then?" Randhir did not wait for her answer. He was out of the room before she could open her mouth.
Sanyukta looked around at the almost empty room.
Sanika was frantically scribbling down something in her notebook. Saurabh was putting the rest of her things into her bag.
Sanyukta saw Sanika smile at her boyfriend and kiss his cheek.
'No. No romance. Not cute.' Sanyukta reminded herself 'FITE is only for studying and winning.'
She watched the couple head out and sighed.
'How will you survive in this harsh world' Randhir's words came back to her.
A question she had often asked herself was thrown at her face.
