When the end of school bell rang, Kageyama left the class quickly. He changed his shoes and ran into the gym. When he entered he looked to see if Hinata was already here. He spotted him in the corner tying up his shoes. Kageyama took a deep breath in and started walking towards him. Hinata got up and turned directly to Kageyama. Hinata smiled while walking towards him. "Hey, can we practise the new quick? I really want to perfect it." He said. Kageyama nodded. The rest of the team arrived and they all set up the nets. They all got to work straight away. The sound of scraping sneakers and loud, resonating booms of volleyball hitting the ground and people's hands filled the room. But before anyone realised it, training was over. Hinata and Kageyama worked together to take the net down. They finished and left at the same time. When they got right near the front gates, Hinata stopped walking. Kageyama also stopped, and faced him. "Um, Kageyama. I have to.. uh.." Hinata began, trying to think of an excuse.
"You're going to go see that girl again, weren't you?" Kageyama filled in. Hinata looked down.
"Uh.. what girl?" Hinata asked, knowing he's just digging himself in a hole.
"I'm not playing innocent any more. I saw you kissing that girl last night." Kageyama stated. Hinata bit his lip and looked back up at Kageyama.
"I-It's not what you think." Hinata replied, nervous.
"I don't know what else it would be. That girl said something like 'I didn't know you could get so out of breath from that' or something like that. What were you doing before I saw you? When you were 'getting something from your classroom'." Kageyama said, looking Hinata directly in the eyes. Hinata swallowed.
"I-I swear. She was giving me study tips. We had to go her classroom and she was commenting o the fact I got so out of breath from just running up the stairs to get there. I swear nothing bad went on. We're just study partners. I promise." Hinata explained. Kageyama didn't know whether to believe him or not. But Hinata looked so nervous right now, he just had to believe.
"So.. you're not dating or anything?" Kageyama asked. But Hinata just laughed.
"Of course not. We're just good friends." Hinata said.
"Then why did she kiss you?" Kageyama asked, Hinata blushed red.
"Because she confessed to me. But I turned her down because I.." Hinata smiled awkwardly, "..I don't even really like girls. She kissed me because she said that it 'would convince me otherwise'. Well that didn't work because I still don't like girls." Hinata blushed again, a deeper red this time.
Hinata covered his mouth straight away, probably not believing he just said that. Kageyama stopped the surprise from showing on his face. Then Kageyama smiled. He never smiled, so the shock of this caused Hinata to drop his arms by his side.
"So.." Kageyama said, lifting Hinata's chin up so they make direct eye contact. "You wouldn't mind if I did this." He finished. He moved towards Hinata, their lips making light contact. After about ten seconds, it finally hit Hinata that he was kissing Kageyama. Hinata moved closer, pushing their lips even closer together. They stood there for what seemed like forever, when in reality it was only about ten seconds. When Kageyama pulled away it revealed a bright red blush had spread across his face. Hinata was also experiencing the same fate, his face painted a shade of pink. Kageyama looked at Hinata for a few seconds.
Then ran off.
"Kageyama!" Hinata called, face still blushed a deep red.
That kiss, Hinata thought, wasn't that bad.
