There was a collective gasp, with everyone chattering distressfully and asking questions. Everything around Hinata was loud. Too loud. He just wanted to curl into a ball and hide. The lights were too bright and he just couldn't get enough air in. Kageyama.. quitting volleyball? That can't be right. Daichi must have misread or misunderstood what he meant. Hinata's thoughts are jumbled, not being able to think of anything else clearly.
"How did he tell you?" Hinata's quiet voice echoed around the room, silencing the chatter. He bit his lip, fighting back.. tears? Why am I crying? He thought.
"He send me a text message." Daichi said, lifting his phone from his bag.
"C-Can I read it?" Hinata asked, held-back tears stuttering his voice. Daichi nodded and handed his phone to him. The brightness hurt his already sore eyes.

Hi Daichi,
I am just writing this to let you know I will be quitting the volleyball team. I have some other things to deal with right now. I have to concentrate on other things at the moment. I'm sorry. I might join back in time, but not for a little while.
I've had so much fun at the club, I just can't be in it while a certain person is around me. Sorry yet again Daichi. Hopefully it'll be fine without me.
Kageyama.
Hinata lifted his head from the phone.
"Hinata, are you.. crying?" Yamaguchi asked. Hinata looked at him, then touched his own face. It was wet with tears. He quickly wiped them off his face, then wiped his eyes in case he would cry again.
"No. It's fine." He replied. Sugawara walked up to him.
"Hinata. We all know how much you liked- sorry, respected - Kageyama. You can be upset. We all are, too." He said, taking on a mother-like figure. Hinata looked up to find his other teammates even more upset than before.
Yamaguchi was holding back tears, hugging up to Tsukishima to try and calm himself. He buried his head in Tsukishima's chest. Though, even Tsukishima seemed upset slightly, but wasn't letting it show.
Nishinoya and Tanaka were already crying while Asahi was trying to calm them.
"We just have to try to continue playing without him." Sugawara said.
Hinata let go of all the feelings hidden inside.
"You know what! For me, volleyball is useless without Kageyama! I love volleyball, but it will just become less enjoyable without him around! Who will set for me as good as he does?! Who will be great enough to take his place?!" Hinata screamed, while more tears rolled out. The entire team froze, shocked to see Hinata like this. He fell onto his knees, still crying. "I didn't know how much I needed Kageyama until now." He whispered, mostly to himself, "I'm useless here without him." He said in a hushed tone, hoping no one would hear. But everyone did. Hinata spent the next few minutes just crying. Then he suddenly stopped. He stood up and wiped the tears from his face. All emotions left him. "I'm sorry for breaking down in front of you. I'm going to try to work without Kageyama." Hinata explained, hiccuping while trying to calm himself.
I will do this.
