When I woke up, Niall wasn't anywhere to be found. Memories of the mysterious kiss swirled through my head and I wish it was some dream I conjured up because I regretted kissing him. It was wrong of me to do, so wrong. After all, he did kidnap me and all the while been a prick to me. But last night he actually showed he had a heart, and I didn't know just how much I wanted to see that he had one.
I shouldn't have kissed Niall. I shouldn't want to kiss him to prove a point. And he shouldn't have kissed me back, no matter how in the moment we were. No, I didn't regret it in the way I thought I would which scared me the most. The fact that it happened didn't bother me like it should have. But the fact that I wanted it to happen scared me witless, the fact that I initiated it. My own father was out there probably worried sick about finding me, and I was making out with his enemy that he put a bounty on. Well, at least I think they're enemies.
Needless to say I felt horribly guilty about the situation.
Sighing, I slowly rolled out of Niall's messy bed, trying to push away everything about last night and forget it. A dull throbbing was centered in my left butt cheek and I silently cursed Niall. Why did he have to throw me on the nasty, hard ground?
Whatever time it was now was definitely not nighttime. The energy that coursed through me and my un-swollen eyes told me that, knowing that I finally got to sleep in for once. My arms flew up in the air fully stretching my sore, nonexistent muscles. Just as I was walking towards the door, my stomach growled ferociously. I cast worried eyes around to make sure no one heard the growling beast locked in my stomach.
Food.
I was just about to sprint towards the cafeteria until Niall's door flung open, almost knocking me out, and in walked a smiling Luke. For a second, I thought it was going to be Niall and I would be faced with the consequences of last night.
With a relieved sigh, I gave Luke a kind smile. "Hello, Luke," I greeted him, moving to the side so he could fully enter the room. He smiled goofily and wrapped a lanky arm around me, "Hiya, sunshine." A sarcastic laugh fell from my lips. Luke had to be delirious at the moment. "Sunshine? I'm feeling more like a molded fortune cookie thrown into a pit of acid," I told him gruffly, scratching my head. Immediately his face changed into a mock scared one, "I might be a tad bit worried about your mental health, mate." Only if you knew, I thought.
"Yeah, me too," I whispered, falling into step behind him. We didn't talk after that, both of us too caught up in our own minds. Luke kept his arm securely around my shoulders until we got to the main living area.
When we entered I was hit with a delicious smell of fresh pancakes, and I practically drooled like a dog. Pancakes were my absolute favorite. All eyes turned towards Luke and I but mainly to his arm still around my shoulder. I tilted my head towards him, whispering lowly, "Please tell me this delicious smell is what I think it is, and if it is then are these people going to attack me if I get some?"
Luke chuckled a bit, looking out at the crowd in front of us. For some reason they seem to return to there business. Luke leaned down to me, his minty breath fanning over my cheek, "It is what you think it is. And I don't think you have to worry about anyone bothering you when I'm beside you." Shivers rolled down my spine as I made a note to stick by Luke. I nodded at him with a light smile, then turned my gaze to the crowd again.
Over the sea of people I caught one certain blonde hair, blue eyed man that I wanted to ignore today. And the look he was giving me made me want to stay even farther away from him, looking like the definition of Satan himself. A sinister snarl was on his face, so different from the kind smile I saw last night.
