Chapter 8 Early Arrival

12/12/15 Day C
"Hey how bout you call Zoe and ask her if you can sleep over?" Raina said once we finished our homework a million hours later.

"Okay," I said getting out my phone and calling her. "Hey, um, Zoe can I sleepover Raina's?"

"Why not," she said tiredly.

"Thanks, love you."

"Love you too,"

"Night," I said as I hung up. "She said yes!" I squealed as I put my phone down.

"Okay what do you say we go get some dinner now?" Raina asked us.

"Sure," I said as I stuffed my stuff back in my backpack.

"Race you!" Sierra suddenly called out, running out the door towards the dinning hall. I quickly raced after her along with Raina and soon I was ahead of her.

"Beat you!" I announced for the whole world to hear even though it was only the three of us out here this late.

"I was only 2 centimeters behind you," Sierra complained.

"But you got a head start," I explained to her before gloating.

I looked around the dinning hall and the only people here was a lunch man washing dishes, and a lunch lady making a boy a sandwich, and the boy in line to get the sandwich.

"Well we're here pretty late." I said to them as we got in line behind the boy.

"But how late?" Raina questioned. She tried turning on her phone but it was dead. She looked up and asked me, "Hey do you have your phone?"

I shook my head no, I left it in her dorm in my hurry. She turned to Sierra, but she said no too. Raina asked the guy in front of us next, "Hey, do you know what time it is?"

"Umm yeah," he said pulling out his phone and saying, "10:13" before turning back around and taking his sandwich from the lunch lady. It was Daniel Skye, which was very unexpected, I turned to Sierra to see if she noticed, which she did, and I gave her a face that meant "run" but jokingly. Well he's here much earlier than everyone thought.

He started staring at us after that. His black hair was flopping down on his forehead, his brown eyes were squinting at us, and his bushy eyebrows were raised a little making him look very confused.

"Why are you staring at us?" Raina finally asked him.

"You don't know me?" He asked amazed.

"You look familiar, but I don't know where from." She replied making Sierra give her a look that meant Are you serious right now!?

"I'll give you a hint, I'm new here." He said.

"Well duh, otherwise I would know who you are." The three of us all just stared at Raina as if she were a crazy person. Finally, after about a minute, Raina finally figured it out and she gasped, "You're Daniel Skye!"

"Yup," he said with a smirk on his face.

"But I thought you were coming in three days." She said. Exactly what I was thinking. I said to myself.

"Yeah, but I decided to come earlier so I would havd time to unpack and get to know the school." he said.

"Oh, well welcome to Westland." She said before asking us what we wanted to eat. "Oooo, how 'bout spaghetti!" she said answering her own question as she ordered us 3 spaghettis.

"Hey, umm, do you mind if I sit with you?" Daniel asked us as we sat down at a table.

"Sure." Sierra said as I glared at her.

I quickly ate my dinner in silence while Raina, Sierra, and Daniel did all the talking. Raina introduced us and Daniel asked if we heard someone singing earlier.

"Uhh, yeahh. It was me." Sierra said blushing.

"Really?!" He asked amazed.

"Yeah, what's so surprising?" Raina snapped defensively, sometimes I thought of her as our bodyguard because she was always there to protect or defend us from anything.

"Nothing, it's just she's a really good singer." He explained to her and Sierra blushed even more. "Hey if you want I could help you get a manager."

"I already have one, I won The Voice last year." She looked at him as if he were crazy for not knowing that, and I agreed with her look, after all she didn't look that different.

I noticed a flash right out of the corner of my eye by the far window, "Shit." I whispered, immediately knowing it was the paparazzi. I grabbed Raina and Sierra, pulling them by their hands to the bathroom, while Daniel just sat there staring out after us, probably wondering why I got up and left dragging them behind me.

"My food..." Raina said making a pouty face.

"I know famous people aren't your favorite type of people to hang around, but he didn't exactly have paps all over him." Sierra said as we crowded in the bathroom.

"Yes he did, there was one right by the window." I snapped.

"Oh." Sierra said.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude." I said softly.

We walked back out a little while later and I saw Daniel was still sitting there eating his dinner. I walked over by the windows and looked all around but saw nothing there, then I pulled the curtains closed. Then I walked by the door and even though it was clear there too, I closed the curtains.

I sighed as I sat by the three of them. "What was that all about?" Daniel asked.

"She saw paparazzi." Sierra explained.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because she's weird." Raina said.

I glared at her as he asked, "Where?" Raina pointed to the window next to us. "How did you see them and I didn't?" Daniel wondered aloud.

"She used to-" Raina started but I cut her off by covering her mouth and shaking my head no.

They made small talk while I focused on eating my food. We headed back to the dorms and I brushed my teeth, took a shower, and changed into my pjs before slipping into the bed next to Raina and going to sleep.

I set my alarm and noticed it was 11:00 on the dot. I eventually fell asleep after thinking about how much I missed my mommy.
