The Way Life Works

Prologue

My birthday was in three days! I'm so excited! My parents are taking my little sister, Maryse, and me to Disneyland. I know I'm turning 17, but I've always loved Disney and Maryse does too, so it's perfect.
I didn't ask for much for my birthday. I have everything I could ever want. A happy family, friends, the latest technology, and a boyfriend, Alex, who is so caring. I don't see why I should ask for anything else.

I still have to pack, I almost forgot!
I packed my favorite clothes, a sweater my mom made, a few pairs of skinny jeans, a blue skirt with a white top, a few random shirts, and my little mermaid shirt. Ariel was my favorite Disney character. I just can't wait to leave! How am I supposed to wait three more days? This is going to be the best birthday ever!

Only two more days! Ah! I can't wait. Maryse is only six, so its funny to watch her jump around with joy. My other sister, Scarlet, is 14. She thinks she's to old for Disneyland. So she decide to stay at a friend's for the week. Boy was she going to miss out.

Last day! I have to make sure I have everything I need. This is going to be perfect. The ride there is one of my favorite parts. Getting to see new things as you drive by is fun. Also laughing at weird things you catch people doing in their cars. I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.

Omg! I leave in five hours. I haven't slept at all. How am I supposed to? I've been texting Lyric, my best friend, all night. She's so jealous of me, its funny. Four more hours. I guess I'll sleep.
