And so we did. My heart broke every mile, but I immersed myself into myself, and begged the men to let me drive us all the way back.

They tried to deny me, they really did.

The growl and growing canines might have scared them into submission, however.

We got back to the pack in record time, only to find I had to initiate even more members in. My little heat stunt seemed to have gotten around the supernatural community, and my antics as a wolf with no rules spurred those with no packs to want to join mine.

By the time I was able to actually sit in a room and mope by myself, I was in a pissy mood.

My heat had faded while my nightmare raged, and in its place was a feeling of emptiness. I would be alone, and no one would be there to fix it.

I growled, grabbing the nearest thing to me and throwing it at the wall. The missile happened to be a glass vase, and it shattered on impact.

Anger flooded me, followed by a wave of sadness as I stood from my spot of moping and walked to the glass. Bending down, I began picking the fragments up barehanded, mumbling under my breath viciously as shards sliced my skin.

Standing, I didn't think as anger overtook me and I threw the pieces in my hand again, watching them glitter in the light of the room as they flew through the air.

Slumping down onto the floor, I ignored the bite of the shards in my kneecap, and considered just giving everything up and living as a rogue. An Alpha rogue.

A female Alpha rogue at that.

I sighed, shaking my head and going about everything to clean up the mess I had made.

Going to bed that night was a hassle. I could almost feel the angry howls of a confused Luca as he had finished whatever duties he had to do at the summit, and come back to find an empty hotel room; my scent long since stale.

The howls carried into my dreams, and when I woke up early in the morning, I felt like they had been done right outside my bedroom window all night.

Rubbing my tired eyes, I crawled out of bed and walked into my kitchen. Sleepily I opened the fridge and looked inside.

You would think an Alpha would be more aware of her surroundings.

Arms wrapped around my waist and hauled me away from the fridge. Flailing, I kicked whatever I could, but seemed to get no leeway with the monster who had ahold of me.

"Put me down!" I screeched, throwing my head back to try and catch a nose.

A deep chuckle, laced in anger sounded from behind me, and all the nerve endings in my body seemed to come alight. "Careful, Kitten. Your claws have just been cut, do you really want to get into a fight with the big bad wolf?"

The accented voice set me on the edge of a cliff, inches from falling into a river that was an emotion far from anger.

"Luca," I said cooly, still dangling from his iron hold.

His breath was warm on my neck as he whispered, "Maya."

Trying not to shiver, I shook my head, "What are you doing here, Luca?"
