Things happened quickly after that. I met my pack, and left that house behind. My heart pulled in my chest as we drove away in heavily armored vehicles, and I felt like opening my mouth and screaming the further I got.

Miles away, I had heard the howl, and something in me wanted to answer, but I dare not let it. I was onto another new life, away from the mafia, and away from the man whom I barely laid eyes on for more than two hours, but who lit a fire in me I knew no other could quench.

The journey was long, and we ended up outside of a small town in the hills of Arkansas. The house I had been given was more of a rundown shack, and while loading everyone out of the armored vehicles I had sighed. It really would be a long time coming.

That had been a year ago. One whole year of learning, and building. Lots and lots of learning and building.

My form still couldn't be completed, but I was one of the largest Alpha's. I had yet to be to a Summit, but knew this was true. Both of my parents' forms were white, so I assumed I would be as well.

My pack followed me without question and grew every month, along with the community we had built around my shack, which wasn't exactly a shack anymore. We had fixed it up considerably, and painted it inside and out. The front door was purple.

It was my little slice of heaven.

Currently, I was sitting outside, watching a training season carefully. With new threats popping up every day, I knew things needed to be kept up to par with the men and women of my pack. Children were beginning to train younger than usual, but no one thought this was a bad idea. I was doing things different than the norm, and people liked it. What is broken, must be fixed; wasn't that the saying?

Sighing I leaned back and gazed over the group in front of me, who were beginning to shift for a run. I so badly wanted to join them, and most the time I did, but lately my body had been doing strange things.

Very weird things. Standing, I waved at all the people before taking my leave and walking back to my tiny house. Other houses now surrounded mine, and our little community grew all the time. We had jobs, and a lot of them received well-paying ones at that. It was a nice life, but I felt that a storm was coming my way.

Nothing big, but something.

Entering my tiny home, I walked through the entry way and down to the end where a nicely sized bathroom awaited me. Beside my living room and bedroom, the bathroom was my pride and joy. I loved it. It was still my alone place.

Sighing, I turned the water on in the shower to a nice temp, before walking to the mirror above my sink and staring at myself. Nothing much has changed. I don't look any older, however my hair had been cut into a 'lob' shortly after moving. It was unruly now, and I ran my fingers through it a bit before turning my back to my reflection and beginning to undress.

Casting a glance over my shoulder, I jumped five feet in the air at the apparition that had appeared. Shaking my head to clear it, I immediately looked away and climbed into the shower. My breath was coming quick, and my heart beating fast.

My body was warm, and not just from the shower. I groaned and leaned against the side of the shower before I slowly slid down it so I was sitting on the floor of the shower; the water beating down on my skin. I set my head in my hands, and begged for the feelings to go away.

The heat took over, and I moaned, knowing nothing I did could make it go away. My scent filled the shower around me, the same scent that had been drawing unmated wolves to my doorstep for days, but this time it was stronger than it ever had been and I growled.
