Chapter 8

*Next Morning*
I wake up to the sound of a door closing.
Its the nurse she must be checking up on Karina.
Romeo: What time is it?
Nurse: 10:30 am
Romeo: Woah I slept in.
Nurse: Eh.
I get up and go to the bathroom. Usually I go in the morning but ever since Karina is in the hospital I've just been too busy to even go pee. I make it to the bathrooms before I pee my self and I quickly close the main door and unzip my zipper and pull out Tony and piss. Ah it feels so good to let it all out. I finish. Zip back up my jeans and wash my hands. I make my way to her room. I step in and everyone is in there. Her heart beat is slow and then it gets slower and then it stops.
What do I do? Her heart has stopped and now shes basically dead. The doctor comes up to me.
Doctor: I dont know if it will start again.
I start to cry. I just look at her lifeless body.
Romeo: Karina baby I need you. Please wake up.
She is just laying there.
Doctor: You are gonna have to sit down Mr. Santos
Romeo: No Fucking way im going to say bye to her.
Doctor: You can't do that now. She is very gentle right now.
I just decide to sit down and cry. My life is over now. Its been about 30 minutes since she died. The doctors still have her on the bed. They are seeing what made her die. The doctor leaves the room to get something. So I go up to her. I grab her hand and give her a whole bunch of mini kisses all over her body.
Romeo: Baby I love you.
I cry on her. Then I walk back. The nurse goes up to her.
Nurse: Karina I know you can come back.
I stand by the nurse then all of a sudden the heart monitor slowly starts.
Romeo: Baby!
I start to cry again. But I wipe the tears off. The nurse gives me a smile. Then all of a sudden Karinas eyes open.
Romeo: Karina mami your here.
She just looks at him. Then the nurse call the doctor back. The doctor rushes in.
Doctor: Wow.
He walks up to her bed and he looks at her.
Doctor: Do you know why you are here.
Karina nods her head no. The doctor hold up two fingers.
Doctor: How many fingers am I holding up?
Karina: Two.
She says it so softly. She puts her hand to her throat. And looks at me. The doctor tells her to lay down and still she is looking at me. I look at her. Then the doctor tells me to step out of the room.
I go out with him and he talks to me.
Romeo: Yes?
Doctor: So her heart has been irregular and how it stopped twice.
Romeo: And...
Doctor: You have to make sure her heart beat doesn't go over 190 beats per minute. So im giving you these pills for her.
Romeo: What will they make her do?
Doctor: Basically she will fall asleep. You give them to her once a day. For at least a few weeks.
Romeo: Okay.
Doctor: You can go back in now.
I walk back into the little room. She looks at me and gasps. I walk up to her.
Romeo: Do you know who I am?
It takes her a while to respond. She looks into my eyes with a confused expression.
Karina: Um sorry I dont.
Romeo: Oh okay.
I walk out of the room. How? How can she forget about me? I was her love of her life. Was it meant to be? Should I leave her life? Should I re introduce my self? I just need to leave.
