Chapter 7

I wake up and its morning again. I'm so confused right now. I see the nurse.
Nurse: Good morning.
Romeo: Is morning already?
Nurse: Yes.
I get up and check my phone. Then I walk up to her bed side and say 'Good morning baby.' I look down at my arm it hurts. She just lays there her heart still beating. I grab her hand and put it against my chest nd our heart beats match up. The nurse says something.
Nurse: We are gonna inject more medication in her and we are gonna need you to step out.
Romeo: Do I have to go?
Nurse: Yes.
Romeo: Ugh fine.
I lay her hand on her stomach and I give her a kiss. And I leave the room the doctor walks in as I leave. I decide to go back to my house because it will probably take a while. I turn the car on and drive. As im driving I see francelys walking around with some guy he looks familiar. Very familiar. I make it to my house. I look in the fridge and see leftovers from the other night. They aren't good anymore. After seeing that I dont really feel hungry anymore. I go on my phone and play some music maybe I wont be as sad. I hook my phone to my speakers in the living room and it starts playing Destiny's Child. I'm fine with listening to them. I even saw them on tour back in the day. I even still have my concert t shirt. Hopefully Karina doesn't find out. She would laugh at me. I just lay down on the couch and go on my phone. I scroll through my social media. Nobody has found out about my mother or suspected something with Karina. Which is good. But I do see rumors starting about Karina and me. I wont let them get to me this time because she is mine forever. After the song finishes I turn on the tv to watch something. There is a commercial advertising for selling jewelry. Maybe I should buy her a necklace and some earings. I get up and drive to the mall. I see the Kay Jewelers the place where I bought her engagement ring. I see my friend. We go back all the way to grammar school. He is now the manager. He sees me.
Ricardo: Hey Anthony! How did it go?
Romeo: She said yes!
He gives me a high five.
Ricardo: I knew she would. Who could say no to your face?
They both start laughing.
Ricardo: So did you bring her?
Romeo: No I wanna buy her a necklace.
Ricardo: Did you screw things up?
Romeo: Um no not really.
Ricardo: Okay im gonna see what I have.
He goes in the back I just stay on the other side of the counter looking at the lights hit the diamonds the counter is pretty warm from the lights. Ricardo comes out from the back with about 7 necklaces.
Ricardo: I dont know what type you would like so I brought some that I think you would like.
Romeo: Thanks man.
I open the boxes. There is a gold one but I don't really like that one. Hm maybe this box is good. Oh no nevermind. It takes me about a few minutes of searching until I find the one. Its a necklace with diamonds. It has a heart as the pendant and it is also a diamond. I think she will love it.
Ricardo: Everyone loves that one.
Romeo: I think im gonna take it.
Ricardo takes it from his hand cleans it off and puts it in a new bag. He rings me up at the cash register.
Ricardo: I hope this makes her happy.
Romeo: Me too
I give him my credit card and he swipes it. I end up leaving with a smile on my face. When I go I notice some girls looking at me.
Random girl: He looks like Romeo Santos
Random girl #2: Yea
Random girl: Take a picture of him.
I try to hurry to my car. I put my hoodie on and put some sun glasses on. Hopefully they don't notice. They just leave after that. I literally run to my car turn it on and drive to the hospital. When I get there I park close to the front but not in the same spot as before. I take Karinas flowers, chocolates, and necklace up with me. I take the same elevator to her little room. Only one nurse is in there. I walk in set every thing down and walk up to Karinas body.
Romeo: Baby I got something for you.
I turn around and put the things on her table.
Romeo: Baby I hope you like them.
I hold on to the necklace though. When she wakes up ill give it to her. Her heart beat is so beautiful its nice and slow almost like a slow melody. It starts slow then gets slower and slower. I've been here for about two hours just sitting here looking at the love of my life. The doctor walks in.
Doctor: Wow its been 4 days now. How have you been taking it?
Romeo: Its been a roller coaster lately.
Doctor: I'm sorry to hear that but we have good news.
Romeo: What is it?
Doctor: We have tried to predict the day she will wake up based on the behavior.
Romeo: So when will she wake up?
Doctor: Anthony look this is just a guess but we guess she might wake up in 2 to 3 days from now.
Romeo: Oh wow.
Doctor: I know. I'm just gonna leave her with you now.
Romeo: Okay.
I look at Karina a light is hitting her face.
Romeo: Do you hear that baby? You will be with me now.
I dont expect and answer now but I just watch her until I fall asleep and dream about her again.

A/N: If yall didn't know Ricardo is Romeos friend in real life lols but I MISS NEW YORK😭 I wanna go back to my place in Washington Heights.😭
