Chapter 3

He wakes an hour later to call the judge to tell him that he wont make it to court today. They reschedule for tomorrow or the day after that. Romeo looks at Karina. This is the longest hes gone without hearing her voice. He misses her. The nurses come in and they check her to make sure she is okay.
Nurse: Do you want to eat something?
Romeo: No im fine
Nurse: You have gone a few hours without eating and rest. You need food.
Romeo: Okay fine.
Nurse: I understand you are sad but don't let this affect your health.
Romeo: I know.
The nurse calls for someone to make Romeo oatmeal.
When she is calling the person Karina gets a call on her phone. He answers it.
Person: Hello Karina
Romeo: This isn't Karina
Person: Oh its Geoffrey.
Romeo: Hey Geoffrey.
Geoffrey: Where is Karina?
Romeo: Shes sick.
Geoffrey: Oh well um tell her I said I hope she gets better.
Romeo: I can't
Romeo starts crying.
Geoffrey: Shes not sick something is wrong. Tell me.
Romeo: I'm sorry but I can't.
Romeo to hangs up the phone and puts it to the side.
Nurse: Here eat this
Romeo: When is she gonna wake up?
Nurse: When she feels she is ready.
Romeo: When will she be ready?
Nurse: I have no idea comas can take years, months, weeks, or days.
Romeo: I miss her.
He looks at the heart monitor and its beating slowly. Romeo gets a call on his phone.
Romeo: Hello.
Person: Yes hello. This is your reminder that you have to be in court today.
Romeo looks at Karina.
Romeo: Do we have to do today?
Person: Yes the judge has no other time in his busy schedule.
Romeo: Okay fine im on my way.
Romeo sits up and he tells the nurse he has to leave. I hurts him so much to leave but he has to. He walks up to Karinas bed and he gives her a kiss on the forehead.
Romeo: Mami ill be back. I love you.
He puts her hair behind her ear. And he leaves.
Romeos pov
My love isn't with me right now. I miss her. I have nobody else. If I tell Mikey he will make fun of me. If I tell Lenny he will just say okay. And if I tell Henry he will be really sad too. I dont want him to stress. Our concerts are only a few weeks away and this is just too much stress. I get into my car. I see the seat she should be sitting in empty. If she was with me right now I would be smiling. I drive to my house as fast as I could. I need to look professional. When I reach my house I run up stairs and find something nice to wear. Something that Karina would want me to wear. And I change. Its so funny how things go so fast. I just proposed to Karina then my mom dies and now Karina is in the hospital. Its just not fair that his all happens to me at the same time. When I finish getting dressed I go back into my car and drive to court. I walk inside and find the 'room' we will be in. When I find it I walk in. I'm late. Everyone looks at me. The judge says
Judge: Hurry.
Romeo: I'm sorry.
Francelys looks at Romeo.
Judge: So we are all here by law over the Anthony Santos & Karina Ferreira vs. Francelys Infante restraining order case. My boss has told me that Karina Ferreira will not be joining us in this court session because she is in the hospital. So this being said Anthony Santos will sign the papers for her. Mr.Santos will this be true?
Romeo: Yes.
Judge: May we start?
Francelys: Yes
Romeo: Yes.
Judge: So Anthony you accuse Francelys of stalk?
Romeo: Yes she took pictures of me and Karina and she posted them to the world.
Judge: Francelys is this true?
Francelys: Yes. I didn't know it will hurt him.
Judge: Now Francelys you will not be able to be within 700 feet from Mr.Santos and Ms.Ferreira. If you do not obey this law you can go to jail.
Francelys: I understand.
A tear runs down her face. Romeo just looks at her with a dirty face.
Judge: Sign the papers and this court session has ended.
The judge bangs his gabble.
Romeo walks to the front to sign the papers and while he does this it will be the last time he comes into Contact with Francelys.
Francelys: Tell Karina I said sorry. I hand no idea she would end up in the hospital.
She starts to cry.
He just signs the papers and he leaves.
Romeos pov
I'm glad that's over. No more distractions from her. I want Karina with me here. I want to hear her voice. I wanna see her smile. I decide to call my friend Ernie.
Romeo: Erniel
Ernie: Ant hows life?
Romeo: Well...
Ernie: What happened?
Romeo: Yo meet me at my house.
Ernie: Okay im in your neighborhood so ill be there.
Romeo: Okay see ya
He hangs up. And Romeo drives back to his house. He changes his wallpaper on his phone to a picture of Karina.
He walks into his house and checks his Mail. He sees a note from the funeral directors.

Its a black card saying in loving memory of Nancy Santos it has a prayer on the back and its laminated and it has a picture of her. He receives a pack of 10 little cards and he puts them in his pocket.
Romeo gets a ring on his door bell. Its Ernie. He opens the door.
Ernie: Brother!
Romeo: Hey man! Come in.
Ernie walks in.
Ernie: This place seems so empty bro.
Romeo: Yah I guess.
They walk to the living room and Romeo turns on his Xbox station. Romeo leaves his phone on the couch and its opened up to a picture of Karina. Ernie sees.
Ernie: Yo who is this. Hook me up with her.
Romeo walks to see what he is looking at.
Romeo: Nah man shes my girl.
Ernie: Oh nevermind.
Romeo puts Call of Duty in the machine. He walks back to the couch.
Ernie: So what has been happening?
Romeo: So remember when I went to Chicago for that business meeting?
Ernie: Yea
Romeo: Well I met a girl there.
Ernie: Oh so what happened next?
Romeo: Well you know my boys met her too and they gave me the okay.
Ernie: So then...
Romeo: I took her to Cancun and I proposed to her.
Ernie: Romeo, Oh Romeo for where art tho Romeo!
Romeo: Shut up.
Ernie: So is she good in bed?
Romeo: I have no idea.
Ernie: What? You have to know what you dealing with before you make it forever.
Romeo: Well im not with her for that reason. She wants to wait until the night of our wedding.
Ernie: So she is a virgin?
Romeo: Yea but we kiss all the time.
Ernie: Well good luck with that shes gonna be scared the first time.
Romeo: I know she was telling me. So back to my story. My mom meets her over Skype before her chemo and then the night I propose to her my mom dies.
Ernie: Ouch bro my condolences.
Romeo: So then we fly to New York and she meets my family. Lala is a bitch to her so she gets sad and Francelys wont stop bothering me. Then she is like call francelys and I want you to tell her that you dont want anything to do with her.
Ernie: Dang bro.
Romeo: So I do and Francelys brings up stuff and she gets mad at me and flies back to Chicago. So of course I follow her. And we settle everything and we come back to New York. Then I tell Francelys I want a restraining order against her and she tells me to come over.
Ernie: So do you go?
Romeo: Yea I go with my girl and Francelys literally grabs a towel with hydrogen peroxide and puts it to my girls face and she passes out and Francelys is like oh now your mine. And then she takes my pants off and you know...
Ernie: Was it good?
Romeo: No.
Ernie: So where is your girl?
Romeo: Well...
Ernie: She broke up with you?
Romeo: No
Ernie: Well what happens?
Romeo: I bring her here and she doesn't respond to anything I do so I take her to the hospital. And then they say she is in a coma. Her heart stopped.
A tear starts to come out of his eye.
Ernie: Bro is she okay?
Romeo: Yea her heart is fine now but she still hasn't waken up.
Ernie: I heard when you are in a coma everything shuts down but your ability to hear.
Romeo: Really?
Ernie: Yea. Can I see her?
Romeo: Um okay. Should I drive?
Ernie: I'll take my car and you take yours. I'll follow you there.
Romeo: Okay.
Ernie turns off the gaming system and puts his controller down.
Ernie: Bro we definitely have to play this game sometime
Romeo: Yea...
Romeo puts everything away and he leaves his house. Ernie follows and they get in to their cars.

A/N: SORRY I HAVEN'T POSTED! It was my Aventura week and I was so busy the past few days but when I went there I met the band and their close friends also Henry waves at me twice, Mikey waved at me, and Anthony smiled at me. I also got two of Romeos towels and omg they are perfect.
