Chapter 17

its Anthony's turn to say his speech. He walks up the the podium nervously. Everyone will be watching him. He coughs before he starts. He starts off with a question.
Anthony: How are we all doing today?
The crowd responds with 'Aright'
He starts his speech.
Anthony's speech: As the priest said we are all here to remember my mother Nancy. I would like to rephrase that in words I would've chosen and that is we are here to remember her legacy, to remember how she loved all of us, how she would care for every one in this room. Now that my mother isn't here I feel her always with me. A mothers love is infinite. It can't be replaced.
He starts to cry.
Anthony's speech: I promised myself I wouldn't cry now but it happened. Sorry. But back to the speech. My mom made me and my sister Laura. She was a very loyal wife to my dad. When I found out she was dying  there was a switch in my brain that turned on that was like now its time to be serious and im sure everyone here had this reaction. When she was dying I wrote something for her but she never read it. I have it here.
A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish

For nothing can destroy it

That's it.
He starts to cry. He walks towards me. I give him a hug and he leans on my chest. I hold him close to me and I rock his head back and forth. I look at the crowd. Most of them are crying. Some clap. A lady goes up to the stand.
Cheryl: Anthony you sure do have a way with words. I would like to say that tomorrow at 6 am we will meet here Alvarez funeral directors then we will drive to the church to say goodbye then we will make our way to the cemetery.
Anthony looks at me.
Karina: Baby...
Anthony: There goes my friends.
Ricardo, Ernie, and his friend Cedric come towards us.
Anthony: Hey
Ricardo: Hey. Is this Mrs. Santos
Anthony: Well...
Karina: I'm Karina.
I say it with a smile.
Ernie: Do you remember me?
Karina: I feel like I know you but I don't know.
Ernie: I'm Ernie.
Anthony: Baby this is my friends Cedric, Ricardo, and Ernie.
Karina: Oh.
They sit down by Anthony and they talk about video games. They make him  something I couldn't do without them. I get up and the all look at me. Anthony extends his arm out so I wont leave.
Anthony: Where are you going?
Karina: Bathroom.
Anthony: Oh.
I walk towards the bathroom. I somehow make my way through a big crowd of people. I open the door to the bathroom and I see Giselle looking at herself in the mirror. She is with Francelys.
Francelys: Hey you.
She says it so friendly. Why is she being so nice?
Karina: Um hi.
Francelys: Do you have any condoms on you?
Karina: Uh no.
Francelys: Oh
Karina: Why?
Francelys: I was planning on something special for Geoffrey. Probably like what I gave Anthony.
I stay silent. I look at my reflection. Why me? Why would a member of a mega band choose me? If I would've known all of the drama that they have I probably would've never dated him. Francelys puts her hands on my hair. Giselle just watches.
Francelys: Baby girl you have go to do something with this hair
Karina: Why are you being so nice?
Francelys: I've always been like this...
Karina: Oh.
Francelys: So what are we doing with this hair?
My hair is perfectly fine I think to my self.
Karina: Um dont make it to wet because it will turn curly.
Francelys: Okay.
She plays with my hair. Its almost like when you are a young girl maybe in the 3rd grade when your friends would braid your hair.
She braids the front of my hair and she puts I in a braided bun. Its beautiful.
Francelys: Lets take a picture.
Me Giselle and Francelys pose for a selfie and she posts it on her instagram. We exchange info and by the time you know it we leave the bathroom. We all leave together and they walk me to where Anthony is. When we get there he is still with his friends. He says something.
Romeo: Hey baby. Why did you take so long?
Karina: Oh I was just getting my hair done.
Romeo: It makes you even more beautiful.
I dont think he noticed francelys standing right by me until I say she did it.
Romeo: Why are you hanging out with her?
Francelys: Oh we just bumped into each other. I'm sorry.
He rolls his eyes and she leaves.
Anthony pulls me off to the side.
Anthony: What was that?
Karina: I dont know she was just being really nice.
Anthony: Look. I dont want you to hang out with her.
Karina: Why?
Anthony: Do you not remember what she did to you? We have a restraining order against her she can go to jail.
Karina: Well I didn't know.
Anthony gives me a hug. Should i hug him back? I do it anyways because i don't want him to be sad.
We both walk back to his friends.
Cedric: What time are they closing the casket.
Anthony: Oh yea that. I think at 9:30
Its 9:00 right now. Everyone is getting in a line to say their final goodbyes.
Karina: Are you gonna go?
Anthony: Yea.
We get up again and his friends follow us. We don't stand in the line we just walk straight up to the alter. We stay there until 9:30 its completely silent and Anthony is holding my hand. The priest finds Anthony's dad and Lala and they all meet at the casket. They bless the casket and the priest says something.
Priest: This is the last time you will see her body.
Anthony starts to cry. I wipe the tear from his face. Anthony puts a piece of paper in the casket which looks like the speech he wrote. They all put their hands on the tip of the casket and they shut it. Now nobody can see what was inside. Ever.
The priest locks it and they put it in a backroom. I take Anthony to sit down.
Karina: Hey its gonna be alright.
He just continues to cry. He puts his hand on my waist. I give him a hug. A long hug. Like the hugs you give when you haven't seen someone in a long time. The long tight hugs.
Karina: Hey
He mumbles a response.
Anthony: Yea
Karina: Do you wanna go?
Anthony: Lets stay here for a few minutes.
Karina: Okay. Are you hungry?
Anthony: A little bit.
We get up and he leaves. He goes to talk to his boys and i try to look for Francelys. I find her by the front door. I say something to her.
Karina: Hey
Francelys: Hey you! I have a pair of shoes that will go good with your skin tone.
Karina: Now?
Francelys: No they are at my place. I'll bring them to you tomorrow. Send me a picture of what you are gonna wear tomorrow.
Karina: Okay.
I see Geoffrey. He just walks past me like he doesn't know who I am.
Francelys: Well ill talk to you tomorrow girl.
Karina: Okay.
Geoffrey puts his hand around her waist and they walk out.
I kinda miss the old Geoffrey. The one who I went to school with and I had a big crush on. I walk back to Anthony. He is still with his friends but now there is a girl with them. Shes definitely taller than me and shes pretty.

A/N: SORRY SORRY SORRY. I haven't posted and I feel so sad BUT I will post more trust me I'm getting more into my story. Oh yea um this week one night I might not post a chapter because my other aunt died so.... Idk I might or might not post.
