Anthony goes up to the podium and he gives directions to the church and how to go to the cemetery. After that he comes back to me and he holds my hand. We walk towards the limo car so we can drive to the church. His moms body is in the trunk of the car and his sister, dad, and a few close friends get in the limo. The church is about 20 minutes away from the funeral directors. When we go in the car I dont say a thing. But he says something.
Anthony: I'm so stressed.
Karina: Baby
I put my hand on his thigh and I start rubbing it back and forth.
Karina: Just dont worry. I dont want you to stress. Okay?
Anthony: Okay.
Everyone is looking at us. It feels so weird.
We arrive at the church. Everyone gets out first and we get out last. When everyone leaves Anthony puts on some white gloves. I give him a little kiss and we get out. These guys are calling Anthony.
Guys: Tony hurry up.
He goes faster. Until he catches up with them. Anthony stands at one corner. His dad is on the other side. They are all holding the casket. Its really shiny and im guessing its heavy. The four men all walk into the church first. When they get inside they put the casket in the front where everyone can see it. The priest comes out and blesses it and the four men just stand there. I try to go in as fast as I can but everyone is trying to get in at the same time. I see Anthony he is about to sit down. I hope nobody sits by him until I get there. I also see Silvia. She is trying to sit next to him and she ends up doing that. A few minutes later I just decide to sit a few rows back from his row. I see him looking for me. The priest starts the mass. He says some prayers and says a lecture. Then he calls Anthony up and he says another one of his speeches.
Anthony's speech:
Yesterday I gave a speech.
What can I say about my Mom? For those of you that knew my mom, she was not only the life of the party but often the reason for the party. She use to always say to us "Don't be so serious, life is too short, just have fun".In her 50's, Mom was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. I remember when Mom was diagnosed a few months ago, she was firm, gentle, hopeful, yet well aware of the way her life was changing. There is no cure for Pancreatic cancer, and over the months that followed her diagnosis, I admired her spirit and the way she woke up each day.
Over the last few months, we all saw how her health deteriorate. Her spirit of fun, and zest for life was always present. She insisted on being present at all family functions whether it was a graduation ceremony, a friend's wedding, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas, or just a regular Saturday family gathering. On my dads last night with our mom, he spent the whole night praying with her. She was always a spiritual person, and I know it was her faith that helped her through those last few months. When I called my mom that night, she said my name as I was about to leave. When I turned around, she just smiled, and I know she had made and found her peace with Life.
As I was cleaning out her house, I found this poem in her nightstand. I wanted to share it with you all.
Poem of Life
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.Author unknown
I think this poem gives us an inside look into how our mom viewed the world both in life and death. It has provided our family with great comfort. This poem also tells us that its okay and we shouldn't be sad that she died but more happy that she lived. I know I am. I have the lovely hand of my fiancé, my lover, my girlfriend, my best friend Karina.

Karinas pov: Every one looks around. They look at francelys. And they know its not her. They are wondering who this Karina girl is.

I know that as we all gather today, our Mom is with us. She would not have missed the PartyHe finishes the speech. Everyone is touched and they all cry. He looks like he wants to cry but he is trying to hide it with a smile. He is still looking for me. I just decide to go up to him.
Anthony: Baby.
I give him a big hug.
Karina: I was here.
He starts to cry.
Karina: Baby don't cry.
He cries on my shoulder. I could feel his tear run down my back. He holds me tight. Almost like he lost me. His arms are around my waist. Everyone is looking.
