A/n: I'm on spring break, so why not use this time to update?
I stared in shock at my stomach until I fell to the ground, clutching my stomach.
"Please, God. God, please, let my baby live." I sobbed, rocking back and forth. I felt no pain, only adrenaline and fear, hearing people run to me and ask if I was alright.
Shock had somehow gotten through to me, and I couldn't hear anything and the world around me had slowed. I watched the black car flip a u-turn and speed away.
Someone had grabbed my shoulder and tried shaking me back to reality, but I stayed silent, trying to scream for Sherlock but as I screamed for him, I couldn't hear myself. I couldn't hear his name leave my lips.
A woman, who looked too sweet to be on this side of town, had my phone pressed to her ear as she talked quickly with someone. I only stared at her and I felt myself start to fall backwards, my mind going blank.

Silence. The silence was so ear piercing that that's how I had awoken. It wasn't the pain, it wasn't the needle in my arm or the hand in mine, nor was it the heart monitor.
I couldn't hear anything and the room had been dark. The only light was from the light above the headboard, making my blue gown stand out and the white of the walls seem more bright.
I blinked several times and the blurred images cleared as my hearing came back and I heard the steady beat of the heart monitor beside me.
When I looked to my left, Sherlock had been staring at me, but he stayed still. No acknowledgement of my awakening and when I waved my hand in front of his face, he didn't even blink.
"Lock, c'mon out of your mind palace." I demanded softly. He was unresponsive and I reached over and pinched his arm. He had jumped and grabbed his arm, rubbing it to soothe the pain.
He finally looked at me and realization ran through his face and flung himself at me, hugging me tightly. I hugged him back and squeezed my eyes shut, breathing him in.
"You were supposed to be at Mrs Viner's." He stated and I clenched my jaw.
"I know. I'm sorry." I said and he nodded, sitting back down and smiling softly.
"I know you are. Now, c'mon. You've been out for two hours. Go back to sleep and get some rest. Doctors said they'd be back in the morning to check on you." He said and I nodded, leaning back and closing my eyes.
"I'll see you in the morning." Sherlock whispered as I lied there, thinking myself back to sleep.

11:46 AMI woke up like I normally would, opening my eyes and panicking as I forgot I had been in the hospital. The moment I saw Sherlock, I calmed myself and that night came back to me.
Everything from the time I spoke to Jim to the moment that I landed on my ass after being shot.
"When's the doctor coming in?" I asked softly and Sherlock looked up at me.
"Soon, Darling. I have a question to ask. " He said and I nodded sitting up and rubbing my eyes
"Why weren't you at Mrs Viner's shop?" He asked and I tilted my head.
"I heard a group of people talking about the time I was able to kick someone's ass while being pregnant." I said and Sherlock shook his head.
"You should have called me!" He sternly said and I rolled my eyes.
"I had it handled, Sherlock. I followed them because they said something about Nathan, and-" I stopped myself before going too far. I didn't want Sherlock to know that I had seen Nathan.
" 'And' what?" He asked and I shrugged, looking down at my lap.
"I can't remember." I bluntly said and Sherlock sighed, and I could practically see the eye roll.
"Don't treat me like a victim, Sherlock." I snarled at him and before he could retaliate, the doctor walked in.
"Ms. Maiden?" She asked and I looked at her, nodding curtly.
"Hi, I'm Dr Smith. And as far as I can tell, I shall be your doctor for your stay." She smiled and shook my hand. I smiled at her and nodded.
"Now, when you were out, we took out the bullet." she said, but her features were getting grimmer by the he minute.
"And I apologize for being the one to tell you this, I wish I could say different." She said and I covered my mouth, waiting to hear the news.
"Your baby didn't survive the bullet." she said and I let out a choked whimper. I sniffled and closed my eyes, trying to take a deep breath.
"I'm so sorry." She said and I looked up at her.
"When will I be let out?" I asked and she looked down at her clip board.
"You are all wrapped up, and the miscarriage has been removed. You should be free in an hour or so. I'm going to go and get your prescription and check on the tests. " she stated and I nodded, thanking her.
I looked out the window and I felt Sherlock touch my hand, but I pulled my hand away, curling up on my side and facing the other direction.
"Destiny, I-" He stopped talking and cleared his throat.
"Just leave. Call John and Mary and tell them what happened. I, I don't want to be around you."
Sherlock was silent and I heard him sigh.
"Destiny, I don't blame you for what happened." He said and I scowled.
"No? You don't? Well you fucking should, Sherlock! Because of my stupidity, I lost our child!" I yelled and looked at him.
"Because of me, I lost my child." I sobbed and covered my face, sobbing into my hands.
Sherlock was hugging me within moments, pulling my body to his. I could feel his shuddering breath, but I knew he wouldn't be letting his tears out.
"Why did this happen, Sherlock? Why us?" I cried into his shoulder.
"I wish I knew." He said softly.
