I was on the couch; panting, my cheeks having a rose tint to them. I looked to Sherlock and smirked.
"Well, that was fun." I laughed and he shook his hair, water flying everywhere.
"I think your fort collapsed though. You were pelted with snowballs." He said and sat beside me. Laughed and nodded.
"Only because you were a bully and stomped on my magnificent fort!" I exclaimed and he shrugged.
"You said, and I quote, "There's no such thing as a relationship on the battlefield." ,end quote." He said and I opened my mouth to say something but didn't. I chuckled and nodded.
"True, I did say that. But you should take pity on me. I was defending another person." I said, pointing to my jacket covered belly. Sherlock chuckled and nodded.
"Talking about the other person, have you made an appointment to get a checkup?" He asked and I nodded, standing up and taking my coat off. I hung it on the back of the chair and pulled my phone from the pocket.
"Yes, they said it would be best for me to come in..." I said pausing as I pulled up my notes from my calendar. "tomorrow afternoon. My time is 1 o'clock." I smiled, closing out of my calendar and looking at Sherlock.
"Good, good." He smiled, standing up and taking his jacket off too.
"So, any word on Nathan?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Nope. I've got a friend on the case. She should be calling me in a few hours." I said as I sat back down, watching Sherlock take his and my jackets to the rack beside the front door.
"She's going to talk to some reporters and if she gets a hit off any of them, she's gonna contact me about it. She'll message me their name and then we can go interrogate them." I said and Sherlock nodded, walking to the kitchen.
"Alright. Sounds reasonable. " He said and I smiled, staring at my belly. I lifted my shirt and smiled.
"You're going to be beautiful. I know you will. Especially since I'm your mother. Not to brag or anything." I chuckled, stroking the small baby bump.
"I mean, your father's good looking. Very handsome, but I'm the real looker. " I winked at my belly and chuckled to myself.
"If you are a girl, I hope to God you don't become like your mother." I said, tilting my head.
"Lock!" I yelled, but almost pissed myself as I found him standing right beside me.
"We have a place to run. I have someone you'll want to see." I said as I stood up and straightened my shirt, pulling my boots back on and heading to the rack.
"What? Why?" he asked, following my lead, putting his shoes back on and grabbing his coat.
"Because she is a very lovely woman. Another mother you could say." I said, going out the door and slowly descended the front steps.
"How many other mothers do you have?!" Sherlock laughed and I chuckled as I waited for Sherlock to unlock the doors.
"Living the life I lived, I've got enough other mothers to last fifty lives." I chuckled, opening the door and getting in, using the handle to help me get up. Sherlock chuckled and copied my movements. He closed his door and started the car.
"Alright, where to?" He asked and I smiled.
"To a shop called, "Son of a Sweet Shop". The best candy store in the heart of New York." I smiled, looking out the window.
"Sounds like something you'd name a store." Sherlock chuckled, driving down the country road. I laughed and nodded, smiling as I pulled the sun blocker down and looked at my reflection in the small mirror.
"That's probably because I did name it. That was the first place I worked. Mrs Viner has known me since I was little. Everyday after school, I remember running in and buying ungodly amount of candy. Mostly Skittles though, to be completely honest. Anyway, as I grew older and she would see my bruised face, she'd keep me after hours and she would make the best hot chocolate anyone could ever make. We'd talk about my day at school, talking about the bitches and jerk jocks that messed with me. She listened when I didn't have anyone to talk with. She didn't interrupt me during a rant, she didn't turn her head away when I showed her cuts and the bruises. She didn't ignore my pleas for help. She let me lean on her, and she stayed." I said, smiling even though tears streamed down my face. I chuckled, wiping my face off.
"Oh, Mrs Viner, you'll absolutely love her. I promise, Lock. " I said looking to Sherlock and smiling. He smiled too and stopped at a red light. He grabbed my hand and gave a reassuring squeeze.
"I know I will. You'd never lie to me." He said and I laughed, shrugging.
"Well... I may have a secret or two." I said and he looked at me.
"Mind sharing those secrets?" He asked and I shook my head.
"You know, some people like to go around, telling everyone their secrets. While some like to keep their secrets to themselves." I stated, smirking and looking back out the window.
"Oh? And which one are you?" He asked I chuckled.
"I'm the latter." I said, looking to him and winking.
"Take a right on the next intersection." I stated and he nodded, nudging the switch up, creating a clicking sound that I tapped my fingers to. I turned on the radio, smiling just as the commercials turned off and the songs came on.
"Oh, this is a great song." I winked at Sherlock as "Love Hate Sex Pain" by Godsmack came on and I chuckled, nodding my head to the beat. I looked to Sherlock, placing my hand a bit too high on his thigh.
"Love, hate, sex, pain!" I sang, making my voice a bit raspy. Sherlock's grip tightened on the wheel and I smirked.
"Left here, babe." I spoke, my voice back to normal. Sherlock turned left and I pointed to the next street.
"Right." I said and he turned, his grip still tight on the wheel.
"And..... Stop. " I said. Sherlock chuckled and pulled over to the side. He turned the car off and as I unbuckled, he leaned towards me, brushing his lips against my ear, causing me to shiver.
"Now, now, Ms Maiden." He said, slipping his hand up my thigh and resting his hand near my crotch.
"Don't be such a minx." He smirked as he unbuckled his belt and got out and I sighed, smirking as I shook my head.
"That utter cock." I laughed to myself as I opened the door and got out, pressing the button to lock the doors. I made sure the necessary items were out of the car. I caught up to Sherlock. I stuck my tongue out at him and opened the door for him, letting him go in first. He thanked me and made a comment on how he was supposed to be opening the door for me. I laughed and walked inside, calling for Mrs Viner.
"Ah, so you've brought your man, I see. " I heard her sweet voice chuckle from the back corner of the shop.
"I told you I would. I just couldn't wait for tomorrow." I laughed, standing by the counter.
"Ah, and don't forget your appointment. Don't want to miss that one. Especially if you're gonna be a mother. " She said and I smiled.
"Especially if I'm gonna be a mother. " I agreed, hearing her restocking candy.
"And you're the father? I'm gonna need a better look at you." I heard her voice say and she finally walked out, going behind her counter.
"Mr Sherlock Holmes. Pleasure." She said, smiling kindly.
