Chapter 1: Why Did You Come Now?

It's been a dark stormy night. I was going home riding on a jeep and then stopped near a waiting shed. 

My suit was soaked with water because of the heavy rain. Hurriedly try opened an umbrella and light up a cigarette. 

And then, while walking I saw a girl sitting on the bench of the shed. As what I've observed she's a high school student on a school three streets near my house. 

Her white blouse was wet and stained with blood and her skirt was partly ripped off. At the first place I was shocked of what I've seen but then I feel sorry for her as I concluded that she was raped. 

This girl downcast her head on her arms sitting as I also sit near her.

"Ate! Gabi na ah? Bakit hindi ka pa umuuwi?", as I asked her but she didn't reply. 

And then she showed her face looking at me. She's so cute, so pretty that many guys will try to make her his girlfriend.

But then, I also think that she had a trauma because of what happened to her. "Ate, may pamilya ka ba? Saan ang bahay niyo para maihatid kita.." 

But then she only look at me again showing her sad face and suddenly her tears began to flow. 

"Wala akong magagawa, nakakaawa talaga siya, hindi ko siya kayang iwan dito sa lugar na 'to.. Baka lang lalo siyang mapahamak dito.. Nabagyo pa naman, malamig dito sa labas at baka mapagtripan pa siya ng kung sino.", as I talked to myself.

"Is it okay for you if I take you on my house? Malapit lang siya dito.. At saka pwede kang magpalipas ng gabi doon or after the heavy rain.. Mahirap na, you know.." 

But then she was only looking at me without any reaction on her face. Suddenly it comes to my mind the fact that "Why will she go with a stranger like me?" and "How can I earn her trust?". 

I take off my coat, put my bag beside her and stand in front of her. 

"If you don't believe that I'm a good person to help you, then I will stand in that heavy rain and wait until a car hits me.." 

I did what I've said until a car was rushing in front of me. 

What I did is I closed my eyes and suddenly I didn't expect that the girl run into me to grab my arms and pulled me just to avoid the car. And because of that we stumbled on the floor. 

The driver of the car stopped and shouted "Hoy! Tanga ka ba? Kung magpapakamatay ka wag kang mangdamay ng iba! Bwisit!". 

And then I looked at her and she nodded her head as an approval of going with me. 

I put my coat on her head, picked up my umbrella and also she picked up her bag, hold my left arm as we headed through my house.

Ako nga pala si Park Shin Bi, 24 years old, 5'6" ang height, tama lang ang kaputian palibhasa kasi babad ako sa aircon kaya ako ganito. 

Koreano ang tatay ko at Filipina naman ang nanay ko. Isa nga pala akong agent sa isang call center company sa Lipa City dito sa Batangas. 

Hindi nga rin nila akalain na ganito ang edad ko kasi nga may sa baby face ako eh! Hahaha!

I'm fluent also in both Hangul and Tagalog. Palibhasa nga kasi naghiwalay ang Nanay at Tatay ko kaya naman dito na ako lumaki sa Pilipinas ever since I was 10 years old.

When we reached my house bumitaw na siya sa akin. "Oh, magshower ka na.. Ihahanap muna kita ng pwede mong isuot na damit para maging kumportable ka.. Just feel relaxed.. Feel at home."
