Chapter 2: Class

Lapis' P.O.V

I stare at my fake wooden desk sitting in silence waiting for class to begin. The white noise of students talking and laughing around me all sound staticky. It was Monday morning, I was tired and worn out from last nights swim meet. I made it in second place, as always. Sighing to myself I look to my right to find Peri who has just taken her seat next to me. "Hey" I greet her with a small smile. For a moment she doesn't answer and simply stares down at her feet. She glances up at me and nods her head. Somethings up...

"Sooo how was your weekend?" I question, trying to make conversation. She simply stares at her desk blankly with no emotion on her face. "It was fine, I didn't do much" she said emotionlessly. Her face was a pastel pink, just lighter than her normal skin tone. Maybe she's sick? Maybe it's her time of the month? Just then I heard the clacking sound of high heels enter the room.

"Good morning everyone" the teacher greeted in an almost to perky way. "I hope you all had a good weekend!" She cooed, man she must be stressed or something because no teacher, no human is ever this happy on a Monday. "Alrighty you may all continue your project and just a reminder as it's due at the end of this week!". Great as if I wasn't already stressed out enough. I glance over my shoulder to find Peri fiddling with her fingers instead of all ready having all her stuff out like usual. Her mouth is a sad frown, her eyes look tired and worn and there's just no life in those emerald eyes of hers.

"Hey Peri, you.." I pause for a moment, seeing her still stare at her desk as if she can't hear me. "*ahem* you, okay?" I ask with a crooked smile. She looks up towards me finally and it looks as if she's going to speak but no words come out of her mouth. "I'm..." She looks at her feet, and then back up at me again. "I'm fine." She says expressionless. She goes back to her pose slouching in her chair while staring blankly off into space. For some reason this irritates me because I know she's lying, I know somethings up and I have to figure it out soon! Just then the teacher eyes me and Peri with the look of Get to work in her eyes. I quickly unzip my backpack to take out the notes and papers on the subject for our project. Two pencils fall to the ground and I motion towards them to pick them up. Before I can make it to the pencils Peri picks the up for me and hands them to me.

"I think you dropped this." She says while dropping the pair of utensils in my hand. She begins to take her notes out of her book bag and finally decides to get to work. For a moment I find it cute how red she looked handing me my pencils. Almost as cute as her... I sigh quietly to myself in grief. Man I've liked her for so long and I still haven't made a stinking move! Just then I feel a tap on my shoulder. "So um I was thinking our poster could look a little something like this." She gestures towards an impressive sketch of a poster with labels of where we'll put our information for our project. While I examine the drawing I hear snickering from behind and turn to see that it's of course, Jasper.

A/N:
Alright guys that was chapter two of this story and I will continue to work on the story, I promise I won't bail! Chapter 3 will be out very soon so stay tuned :D
