Why Can't We Be Friends

(Kelly's pov)

"Hey," said one of the Rebels to Kelly. She turned her head to see a young woman dressed in dark colors. "What are you her assistant?" the woman asked. Kelly scoffed at her and gave her a look. "I'm her best friend." Kelly replied.
"I'm just asking. She treats you pretty bad and looks bossy to be your best friend." the young woman said.
"Well she is and you have no right to talk about her that way."
"Whoa what happened to keep the peace because I can start a war if you'd like. And I wasn't talking about her just your relationship with her. Tell her sorry I spoke about her like that. I forgot she was so high up in the White House." she finally finished while her friends started to giggle.
Kelly was so frustrated but she knew she had to stay strong and not make a scene. Her best friend worked to hard to keep the peace and Kelly wasn't going to let her down. Even if she is bossy I gotta love her, thought Kelly. Then Kelly said to the girl, "Is there something you want from me."
The girl responded and said, "I don't know maybe you want a better life."
"What deal are you proposing?" Kelly asked suspiciously.
"Let's say, why don't you come to our neck of the woods aye? See that it is better than that side."
Wow, thought Kelly. This would be a great way to find out what we need to change about our society to meet the needs of everyone! Kelly smiled and accepted the offer and told them that she would be back in 30 minutes. Then she added "Where would I stay?"
The lady smiled and said "You can stay with me. My name is Ruby by the way. Here is my number so you can call me once you get here. See you later." After exchanging numbers they told her to hurry because the border was going to close soon. Kelly hurried home and packed up her outfits and headed back out the door. Once she got in the car Kelly immediately called Loretta and told her the plan. Loretta was very happy with it. "OMG Kelly thus perfect you are going to do so awesome! I'm so excited right now we might finally be able to reunite the people of Genuyne! said
Kelly smiled at her friend's reaction and then it faded as she remembered the talk with Ruby.
"Hey," said Kelly. "Do you appreciate me or consider me as a assistant."
"Of course I appreciate you and if you were my assistant your the best on I've ever had." Loretta replied chuckling at her self.
"Come on be serious." Kelly said.
"You know I love you Kelly. Without this plan we might not have any peace. On behalf of the Wringlers I thank you and be safe."
"Thank you Loretta. See you later! Bye!" Kelly ended turning off her bluetooth. Then she started to dial Ruby's number and Ruby said that she would pick Kelly up and take her to her house. Soon Kelly was at the border and getting in Ruby's car. Kelly was looking at the buildings and the streets. There sure are little street lights around here. But they like dark colors so that explains it. This is a good time to ask Ruby some questions, thought Kelly. She started interrogating to get some answers.
"So, Ruby why did you decide to move here and become a Rebel?"
Ruby happily answered and said "It feels like life over here is way better. People actually listen to what you have to say."
"Do you feel as though the others didn't listen to you guys?"
"Yeah things are more our style here on this side of the border. Things are dark and filled with our types of books and other things."
"Does that mean if the government listened to you guys and considered your feelings you'd move back or rather we could mix again?" Kelly asked.
"I don't know Kelly. Things have been pretty rough between us but since you guys are making an effort to keep the peace we are easing up. But some of us think that you guys are just saying that because that's what your supposed to say although we both love the late president."
"We sure do love the president and we are trying to finish what he started. Yes we are the government and we are supposed fix things but we really do want to make peace."
"OK we are here." Ruby said turning if the car. She lived in a single home in a kinda of dark neighborhood. They walked in and Kelly admired the dark purples, red and black in Ruby's furniture. "Wow!" Kelly exclaimed. "This is soo Rebellious." said Kelly crossing her arms and smiling at Ruby. "Thanks Kelly now stop drooling so I can show you where your going to be sleeping for the week." said Ruby as Kelly giggled and trailed up the steps behind her. The girls got to the room and Kelly put her stuff down. "Make yourself at home but not to much. I still need to live here and I'm to lazy to clean up big messes." Ruby said to Kelly. Then she added "I hope there isn't a lot if clothes in that bag." she said with a look.
Kelly was confused and asked "Why not?
Ruby gave Kelly a devious grin and told her "We're going shopping." Then Ruby left.
That girl is soo funny . This visit is gonna be great. I can find ways to fix our government and maybe make a new friend, thought Kelly. She phoned Loretta and told her all about the discussion in the car. After getting showered and comfortable in pajamas Kelly charged her phone and layer down on her bed. Ruby came in and said "Goodnight Kelly."
"Goodnight buddy!" replied Kelly. Ruby rolled her eyes and smiled.

This is going to be so awesome I can't wait to fix things so that everyone's life can be better and have a new friend to help me do it!
