It was Monday after the long and exciting week that Kelly had with Ruby and she was glad to be back to work. She shared all her ideas with the board and Loretta whom was proud of her and agreed with them. The supposedly normal day was going smoothly until terrible breaking news came on. "A person has just been killed in the Rebel side of the border. Bright color fabrics such as yellow and pink have been found near the crime scene and the people think a Wringler has done it. Here are protesters outside the White House. Could it be a Wringler it could it have been the person who murdered the president? More updates as this story progresses." The new reporter finally finished and all were shocked. The White House was usually bustling so no one had really noticed or heard the protesters outside the gate. When they all looked out for he window police and guards were holding the big crowd back. They were holding all kinds of mean signs... all mentioning Kelly. The people in front were friends of Ruby that came to see her go into Spencer's. Down with Kelly, Kelly must be killed, the signs said. Loretta turned to her and then all eyes were on her. They were the only people that knew I was a Wringler on that side of the border. It's funny how people could turn on you that quick. But I don't see Ruby, Kelly thought as tears ran down her face. She stood up straight, wiped away her tears and marched out the door without a word. She went to the gate and exited into the boiling protester crowd. She noticed a police officer with a megaphone and asked to hold it. "Attention Rebels, what makes you think it was me who killed your fellow Rebel?" she shouted though the device.
"We know you were still on the Rebel side the night if the killing!" a friend of Ruby's yelled.
"May I ask what night this was?"
"It was on Sunday around 8!" a man shouted. All of the sudden Ruby's car appeared and Corey was in it as well.
"Stop! Stop!" Ruby yelled once she got out in rage. "Ugh! This shiz is just CRAZY! She did not do it!"
"Yeah at that time all of us were at The Shadows! She left that evening as well!" Corey also stood up. Kelly smiled and they started to make their way to the front and Loretta also came out of the gate and took the megaphone from Kelly. "I thought my speech would encourage you guys to stop all this mess. Some probably didn't want to come to the border that day but I expected you guys to at least listen and try to get along." she said into the megaphone.
"Why you should we listen to you?! It still could have been a Wringler that did it as well!" a protester yelled.
Ruby grabbed the megaphone and said, "True that could be but not all people on are side are good and not all people on this side is bad either. Kelly is a very fun and friendly person."
Kelly grabbed it from Ruby and said, "You guys are dark and bold spirits but on the inside you guys are just like us. You're very friendly and generous and I learned all that by spending a week with this girl. Honestly I didn't know you guys were capable of loving."
Corey grabbed it next, "She brought us closer together and she didn't have to. It was all to repay a favor. Why can't we do the same?" he said.
Loretta grebes the megaphone and from there it went down the line. "How about we call a truce?" she asked and grabbed Kelly's hand.
"Be a nation." Kelly said, who grabbed Ruby's hand.
"Be united." Ruby added then grabber Corey's hand.
"Be one." Corey finished and they all raised their hand that were now all linked together. Everyone cheered and the four knew that they made a change and that the future was definitely brighter. "We did it guys, and I'm glad you were by my side." Kelly told them and they all hugged. If this is the future than I like what's in store, she thought and all started to come out the White House to rejoice and celebrate the wonderful moment that would change there life forever.
