Laser Nerves

Once again Kelly awakened to the smell of bacon and eggs. She got out of her bed glad that Ruby wasn't at her door to smell her morning breath. Kelly walked to the bathroom thinking about what outfit to wear. By the time she was done she decided on the purple sneakers with the purple, black, and gold outfit from Dark Fortress. She lotioned and threw on her clothes. Then she strut down stairs to find Ruby happily enjoying a home made omelet and one on a plate waiting for her. Ruby gasped and said, "OMG girl, you look drop DEAD gorgeous in that get up!" she gushed.
"I know right. Totally killer." Kelly said agreeing and popping her purple vest with gold buttons and spinning around to show her black pants and shirt with a gold design. Ruby stopped eating and ran over to Kelly and gave her a tight hug then stepped back to admire her. "Now this is the Rebel lifestyle." Ruby told her.
"And that is?" Kelly asked.
"Relax lookin' fresh in the shadows." Ruby explained.
"Did you make that up?" Kelly question her and Ruby nodded her head. Kelly giggled then sat down to enjoy her now a cold breakfast. She put it in the microwave and as the omelet was heating up she asked Ruby "What are we doing today?" Then Ruby grinned and told her the plans. "We are going to play the game that all Rebels love in the shadows." she explained with a big grin.
Kelly gave a Ruby a confused and kind of frightened look.
"We are going to laser tag." Ruby ended still grinning. At that moment the microwave beeped and Kelly started to eat her breakfast still worried about the devious smile on Ruby's face.

The whole trip to the laser tag place was scary as h*** for Kelly. She has never been laser tagging before as a kid. This seem like Rebels territory. Oh god this is the death of MEEEEE! This seems like a really big deal and I'm gonna fail! Kelly thought. Ruby looked at Kelly frightened face and put her hand on her shoulder and rubbed it, trying to comfort her. "Don't worry it'll be fine. As long as your with me and I will teach everything you need to know." Ruby explained. Kelly smiled and nodded thankful to her new friend. Then she took a deep breath and leaned back in the passenger seat.

After a short nap Kelly awoke to see a sign that read Ultimate Laser Tagging. A chill went down her spine and goosebumps formed on her arms. Ruby took her hand and they walked to the door. They walked in and Kelly took in her surroundings. There were arcade games and a little mini gulf course. There was also a little room where you can get prizes. "Hi may I have two spots for the sport laser tag." Ruby asked. The guy nodded his head and said, "If she is new can you get her signed in for an account?" the man behind a counter asked and Ruby nodded and gestured Kelly to come over. She did and started to put in information then said to Ruby "I don't live here I'm going home in a a couple of days." Ruby told her to just put her info in and go with the flow. Kelly needed a username so she put in LawyerLady309 and showed Ruby. She giggled at the name and told her to hurry up. Kelly quickly finished her account and sat down with Kelly to wait for their 3 round game. Ruby started to tell Kelly about strategy, tactics, and hand signals. This shiz is literally blowing my f ing mind! Ruby noticed the wide look in her eyes and started to hold her hand. "Your gonna be okay." Ruby reassured Kelly. She nodded her head and smiled. The Ruby added "Get ready because the game us about to begin!" and with that Ruby was out if her spot on the bench and practically sprinting to the door to the course dragging Kelly with her.

After an explanation of the rules from the ref everyone was split into teams, red and blue. Thu went into a room that had these kind of heavy black vests to put on. It had a gun attached to it. Kelly worried how it looked on her so she turned to ask Ruby. She rolled her eyes and said "Like your ready to whoop some a**."
Kelly giggled at Ruby's reply and saw the team start to huddle over a table on their side of the room. "So who wants to be squad leader?" a man on their team asked. Ruby shot up her hand and since no one else wanted the position she got it. On the table there was a map of the laser tag course just behind a door. Kelly watched Ruby explain where everyone was going to go. "You and you are going to cover my left. You two are going to cover my right and y'all are gonna be protecting the base. Kelly your with me." Kelly nodded then the referee asked if each teams had their plan ready and the squad leaders said yes. Everyone went inside but before going in Ruby gave Kelly a hug since she was still nervous and said "Till death do us part." Kelly nodded at her and then they went in and took their places. Okay Kelly, she thought to herself, It's game time. Die a winner or live a loser.
