Neon Lights

The two stepped inside and out of the darkness everything was glowing. They took their positions and soon the game started. Everyone started spreading apart guarding the entrances toward the base. "Come on Kelly, let's go." Ruby said both hands on the gun ready to shoot. She was walking like the cops on TV and occasionally hid behind the obstacles. Kelly started to copy her and both went forward as stealthy as they could. Kelly heard a little static from Ruby's vest that was also glowing like hers. "Captain, is it all clear?" a man's voice came from her vest. "Yes and what is your position?" Ruby replied.
"I'm guarding the base with GirlPower."
"Okay over and out." Ruby ended the conversation then checked to make sure that they were not spotted.
"D*** I ain't know there were walkie talkies in these things. Awesome!" Kelly exclaimed. Ruby smiled and then put her index finger over her lips to signal Kelly. She smiled back and nodded then they started to walk again. Out of the blue three people started to shoot at them! Ruby rolled behind and obstacle and so did Kelly but shuffling and trying to shoot. The two began shooting and someone shouted from Ruby's vest panting a little, "Laserboy is down and they are heading toward the ramp down to the base. I need someone to guard it." said the same person.
"On it!" Ruby yelled back. "Hey GirlPower, I need you to guard the ramp I think they might be coming in hot. Tell FlyGuy to brace himself cause we are getting ambushed as well. Over and out!" Ruby rolled away from the obstacle and shot two of the players then she gave Kelly a signal to go around and shoot others that were coming. Ruby didn't shoot the third player yet and the person had hidden behind an object. Ruby couldn't see them and they were about to make a move so Kelly ran then rolled in front of Ruby, got up and acted as a shield and shot the player. Wow, competitive mode is coming out of me, Kelly thought still holding the gun shocked. "Wow that was awesome!" Ruby exclaimed. "Thank you Kells." then she gave her a hug. No one's called me Kells except for Loretta. Kelly smiled and hugged Ruby back. When the moment passed they quickly returned to their base to help their teammates. The girl that Kelly assumed was GirlPower was still guarding the ramp. "Hey is everything all right here?" asked Ruby as she put her gun to the side and put her and on her hip. "Yeah we're fine but you better go up there and check on the other two." Fly Guy said. "Will do. Roger that." Ruby said with a nod. "Come on Kelly, back me up."
"Happily." Kelly said following her with her gun in both hands ready to fire. They stealthily walked up the ramp to check on the others players. Kelly and Ruby found them hiding behind some obstacles. "Hey are guys alright?" Kelly asked. The players nodded there head confirming it. "So what happened here?" Ruby question them. "It was three of them. We didn't see it coming." said one of them.
"Yeah they came out of nowhere!" the other explained. Ruby gave them an 'mmmhmmm' and then Kelly explained that's also what happened to them. "At least we can fend for ourselves and Kelly hasn't even played before!" Ruby yelled at them raising her hands in the air then let them fall carelessly and making a thud once they hit her thighs. "I want you to stay here with them while I scope out this area." she told Kelly. "Okay I will let you know if there is any activity."
"Aaaw look at you with the special terms." Ruby said. Kelly laughed and put her gun in two hands in case she needed to shoot. Kelly watched her walked away with her and two minutes later her voice came screaming from the walkie talkie. "Kelly! Get over here, I need some serious help, it's like five people!"
Kelly pressed the button so that she could respond to Ruby, "I'm on it girl, I will be right there!" Kelly looked up and took a breath. "Okay you go down there and warn the guys protecting the base and report to our location. Be careful. And you coming with me." Kelly told them. Her teammates nodded and started to leave. Kelly took one more breath then started to speed walk as stealthily as she could to get to Ruby. As she got closer she could here the pew pew the laser guns in the distance. She walked even faster then halted at a safe distance. Kelly gave her teammate signals to tell him walk around the left and she will walk around the right and that they will sneak in the back. He nodded and started to execute the plan. She did too hoping that they won't be spotted. The two players met where they were supposed to and Kelly pressed the button to communicate with Ruby. "Get ready for fire in 3...2...1!" Her and her teammate started to fire at the opponents as accurate as they could Kelly shot three of them and the other guy shot two. They were all out and Kelly rushed to help Ruby. She was on one knee, and her gun in ready position. "Kells thank you so much. That was AWESOME!" Ruby gushed. They high fives and Kelly helped her up. "There's still a lot of work to do so let's get going. Hey could you go back to the base with your partner?" she asked the player. He nodded and walked back where they came from. "Let's go." said Kelly as Ruby awed her leadership. The rest of the game was intense. Kelly was racking more points than Ruby. "Your are in virus mode." said the vest in a deep robotic voice. AAAAW YEAH! IM ON FI-YAAA!, Kelly thought. She started speed walking, with Ruby at her side, and came across more targets. Her vest had done the same things and Kelly quickly took out the targets. Her competitive and game mode was bursting out of her like the neon lights on the obstacles and some of the outfits people had on. The two soon came close to the base. "We have spotted the base and we are going in for the kill. I repeat we are going in for the kill." Ruby reported to the crew. There was a series of compliments and encouraging words from them. "It's all because of you Kelly." Ruby said making Kelly blush. "Okay okay let's get going, we have a base to destroy." said Kelly. The duo stealthily walked into blue territory and took out the opponents left and right. Ruby and Kelly successfully made it to the enemy base and started to fire. "Rapid fire mode activated." the deep robotic voice came from their vests once again. They smiled at each other and Kelly said, "Perfect timing man, perfect timing." With both of them quickly firing at the base was destroyed within a matter of seconds. Soon after the gateway over and everyone reported back to the room where they got the vests from. "That was great guys you two are awesome!" said one of their teammates. "I knew you two could it." said another. They smiled and said thank you. "Not bad for your first time beginner." Ruby said to Kelly. "Well I had a pretty good teacher. I have definitely embraced my dark side." Kelly responded with a giggle and Ruby nodded. After an eventful day Ruby and Kelly got in the car and went back to the hose for some much needed rest.
