Bandit's Point of View;
"Daddy?" I peeked my head cautiously around the hospital door.
He was still sitting at mom's side, not moving a inch. If I hadn't known any better, I would say he wasn't breathing either.
"Daddy, come on." Nothing. "Daddy! This hurts me too, you know! She was my mom!" I yelled at my statuesque father. My words caught his attention as he turned to look at my tear-streaked face. He let go of her cold hand and warped is warm arms around me.
"I know, Lady B, I know."
--------------------
Two days ago;
I'm 14 years old and looking down at my smiling mother. She really was a sight to see. her gorgeous black hair, her icy eyes, her warm and welcoming smile. My mom was my best friend in the entire world. She fought so hard for so long; hell, she beat cancer twice! Who would have thought that it would be an accident to kill her.
She had been in a coma for three day before opening her eyes. Uncle Mikey, his new girlfriend Kristin, Aunt Alicia, daddy, Aunt Lindsey and I all sat in the dismal waiting room, hoping for something new to happen. Of course, time ticked by agonizingly slow.
She hadn't been in the hospital since I was a little girl, maybe six years old. She had beaten cancer for the last time and finally opened her eyes. It was the best birthday present ever for a little girl.
When they finally told us the news, that she had opened her eyes, we were over joyed. It was the news that was to come next that tore us apart. Her lungs weren't working well and her kidneys were collapsing. Basically, her body had turned against her and she wold die.
I looked at my dad before standing up and following the doctor back to her. When he opened the door, her eyes were the first thing I saw, causing my smile to widen. I loved my mom, more than anything in this world and now I had to tell her goodbye.
"Hey there, Lady B of my heart!" She exclaimed weakly, holding her arms open for me. I rushed into them, wrapping my arms around her neck.
"Mommy, please. Please don't make me do this. I still need you!" I cried out pathetically.
"Hey," She lifted my chin to look at her. "I will always be with you, Bandit. I'm not going anywhere, not really." She smiled her infamous smile that had always made everything better.
"Whose going to give me boy advice and tell daddy when he's smothering me too much? Whose going to be at my side when some stupid boy breaks my heart? Who will chase the monsters from under the bed when I have a bad dream? I need you to help me get ready for my first date, prom, my wedding!" Tears were relentlessly streaming down my face at this point. I don't know how my family ever did this.
"Bandit Lee Way, I will not let you go through anything alone. If you need me, just close your eyes and ask for me, you'll know I'm there. Take me with you. Carry me in your heart, okay? I will never stop being your mom. Bandit, being your mom has been the light of my life. Watching you learn, grow, and become who you are today. I have never been more proud of you and neither had your father. You're my world, beezle. Nothing will ever take us away from each other." She thumbed the tears away from my flushed cheeks.
"I guess I need to say goodbye, but I really don't want to. I don't know what I'm going to do without you. You're my best friend, mom. I love you so much. This isn't fair!"
"I know, I know it isn't." She was crying as well as I clung to her.
"I love you, Bandit. Don't forget that." Her breathing began to slow as I held onto her.
