Long day of moving into my new place was the worst way I could think to spend my weekend. It didn't really help that the entire reason I was moving was because my parents kicked me out. They said I was too destructive recently and that I needed to figure out what to do with myself.
Apparently that meant making me move out all alone when I barely even had a job. Yeah I got paid quite a bit per week, it was just rare that I got called in to work. And no I wasn't a stripper or anything weird like that.
I had a pretty decent apartment anyway. One where I had a pretty big bedroom and a pretty awesome balcony that looked out at the city.
Lying in bed on my first night wasn't really great. It was so weirdly quiet and all my boxes and stuff piled around me made me feel a bit claustrophobic.
The thought that someone could possibly break into my house didn't even enter my mind until I heard a rather loud thud outside my room.
I sat up straight and looked around my dark room. I needed something to throw. I grabbed whatever was closest to me and opened my bedroom door slowly. I saw a figure standing by a pile of boxes near my couch, digging around for something.
I was strangely calm as I switched on the light to reveal that my stupid boyfriend was the who broke in.
"Oh my god, Calum?" I asked relaxing a little more "you scared the fuck out of me!" He looked at me and pouted.
"Really? Cause that was my main reason for being here." He said closing the box he was digging in. "We're you planning to beat me up with that?" He pointed to the tennis racket I had carried with me.
"Maybe." I said putting it down. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to help you unpack!" He said like I was supposed to know this already.
"But you told me you were too busy, and I was really expecting it to be, like, not 2 am?" I said rolling my eyes at him.
"I said I'd stop by when I was free." He shrugged at me and moved closer to me. My little yappie dog came running into the room barking when he reached me. "Skippy is a terrible guard dog." I laughed and he kissed me. Calum crouched down and Skippy excitedly jumped up, welcoming the love. He grinned and I couldn't even handle how cute he was when he found a dog.
"He knows you, Cal." I said rolling my eyes, "he wouldn't bark at you." He stood up and put his arms around me.
"Well," he said licking his lips. God I wanted him to kiss me. "I'm hungry."
"Hungry?" I asked letting out a breath of annoyance. I moved closer to him and ran my fingers into his hair.
"Yeah for tacos." He said nodding. He gave me that stupid grin and I sighed.
"I can make you tacos." I said. He giggled and kissed me before dragging me into the kitchen. I grabbed a pan gathered the things I needed to make tacos. Strangely I had just about everything I needed.
I stirred the ground beef in the pan as it cooked and Calum slid his arms around my waist. He kissed my shoulder and the side of my neck, distracting me from cooking.
"I thought you wanted tacos." I said turning my head toward him. He kissed my lips before he moved down my cheek and across my jaw.
"I do!" He said between kisses.
"Then you have to stop." I said pushing him back, "You can help instead." I put the spoon in his hand and pulled him to stir the meat. I cut up some tomatoes and shredded some cheese.
"What if it burns?" Calum asked as I grabbed some tortilla.
"It won't burn." I said looking at the beef. It was close to burning already. I turned it off and moved the pan off the stove. "See?" I grabbed plates and opened the fridge. "Sour cream? Salsa? Lettuce?"
Calum just nodded and I got everything out on the counter. He grabbed a fork and put his taco together. I thought he was just going to eat it, but after he had finished rolling it all together he handed it to me.
"Taco for pretty girlfriend." He said before he put another taco together, "Taco for cute boyfriend." And then he sat down on the floor with his back against the cabinets. He looked up at me and raised his eyebrows. I sat next to him and stretched out my legs.
"Pretty good." I said after taking a bite.
"I can put together a mean taco." Calum said putting his taco aside on a plate. He put his hand on my leg and leaned over. He kissed my cheek and jaw, but I ignored him. I wanted to finish my taco.
"You do." I agreed with him. I put my plate aside and Calum's hands slid around my waist.
"Come on, Babe," he said huffing. He stopped his kissing and pouted.
"What do you want?" I asked laughing. "You said you wanted Tacos, and when I make you tacos you don't even eat them."
"I want kisses!" He whined. I laughed at him and kissed him back.
"There." I said grinning at him. "Now eat your taco." Calum sighed and picked up his plate again. He didn't seem very happy about it.
I let my head fall against his shoulder and sighed. I was tired and Calum was comfy. I put my arms around his waist and closed my eyes.
"So do you like your new place?" He asked putting his arm around me, resting his hand on my shoulder.
"As much as one can like a place they're forced to live in." I grumbled. "I didn't want to move out to begin with."
"I know." Calum said, "But hey now I can come over more and you don't have to worry about dodging your parents." This was true but still. I didn't respond to him. I didn't want to talk about living here and I didn't want to talk about my parents. But Calum was the sort of person to talk.
So we sat there on the kitchen floor talking and eating tacos until the sun came up.
